SR. MANAGER, TAX
The Tax Sr. Manager will work closely with the Director, Tax, various projects, including cost segregation and fixed assets. The Sr. Tax Manager will identify, manage, and facilitate all aspects of the company’s various tax planning projects, including cost segregation, fixed assets depreciation, tax credits, including planning, compliance, coordination with external tax consultants, staying up to date on legislation, coordination with various departments within the company, and various other responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage cost segregation projects, including identifying opportunities for continued acceleration of tax depreciation, as well as, various other projects as needed
- Develop and refine processes to improve efficiency in data gathering and data analysis
- Work with external tax advisors in completing cost segregation studies, as well as, working in conjunction with credit opportunities
- Communicate with other business groups to explain tax impacts of business strategies
- Integrate technology and innovation into processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, business, engineering, technology, or other discipline
- 10+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting with experience in cost segregation, fixed assets depreciation, credits and incentives
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior Big 4 experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of engineering or sustainability projects
- Understanding of fixed assets depreciation methods
- Understanding of Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act, as well as Section 41 R&D Credits
- Experience dealing with taxing authorities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is based in Austin, TX, and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be considered
- Willing to work extended hours as necessary
- Frequent travel
