Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Supply Planning will lead a team responsible for coordination and the flow of work and materials to meet the expectations of the forecast and actual sales. This role is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, closely monitoring the production process, forecasts, actuals, and the production process outcomes. This leader and team will ensure planning systems reflect supply and demand changes to ensure high accuracy to support or commercial products. This role’s overall responsibility is to ensure that product availability is maintained across products supported to meet company goals.  This role is responsible for establishing the connection with other operations related functions and other key departments at all assigned sites.  This role provides clear direction for work in the department and collaborates heavily with logistics, materials management, procurement, production, lab and SAP Business Operations functions to meet the needs of the businesses supported at the assigned sites.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees all planning operations related to products and sites assigned.
  • Reviews with the support of team the changes in the demand requirements, supply plan, and forecast to ensure schedules, production orders and testing can be achieved.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data to make decisions, and develop metrics critical to success.
  • Mentor team members within the functional work-streams to continue to grow talent within our organization.
  • Assess current and future business requirements to determine optimal processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Establishes multiple reports and dashboards that support operations for continuous review of inventory trends and irregularities that impact supply chain.
  • Supports Planners/customers of planning in maintaining accurate planning parameters and material master data.
  • Assesses planning risks while communicating them across the organization and recommends appropriate safeguards.
  • Define, measure, and regularly communicate appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain processes spanning the range from raw material procurement to order fulfilment for finished products.
  • Leverage supply chain key performance indicators to identify and champion continuous process improvement projects, quantifying the associated costs and benefits to enable data-driven prioritization of these projects.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for supply challenges related to planned parts availability.
  • Translate demand projections provided by the business into a detailed Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) output and present the plan to senior leadership for approval to execute.
  • Support strategic efforts to qualify new raw materials and alternative supply channels for products.
  • Ensure proper safeguards are in place and policies for planning and inventory management.
  • Develop inventory strategies working closely with the centralized supply chain functions and the areas supported to ensure adequate stocking levels and purchasing plans are in place.
  • Manage/participate in the control of non-conforming material within the company and the Quality Manual System (QMS).
  • Participates in the review, proposal, and implementation of improved systems to streamline and improve inventory tracking, management, and accuracy.
  • Participate in the development and implementation process for service and spare parts management.
  • Manage raw material and production planning, work, process, or production order creation and completion, material staging where applicable, and ensure a well-trained and effective team.
  • Ensure the coordination of inventory availability and integration into planning process for new or retiring programs, studies, and product lines.
  • Define and develop training for staff in the area of production planning and inventory management.
  • Monitor and maintain where applicable the data integrity of the Company’s inventory utilizing the ERP system to ensure optimal service to both internal and external customers.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support teams and functions that use planning services and outputs.
  • Determine planning  related processes and procedures, and monitors for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development of warehouse, inventory control and materials management related processes and procedures.
  • Where appropriate oversee staff conducting materials management related functions in alignment with larger departmental processes and procedures.

  • Strong documentation skills and attention-to-detail necessary in a GMP, ISO, and CAP environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing work environment with rapidly changing needs and requests.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deal with changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness.   • Ability to work set a working schedule that allows for flexibility that is hybrid in nature, working 3+
    days a week in an office location.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 75% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 25% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel 5% between Exact Sciences locations (Campus locations).
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply chain Management, Production, Operations, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain Operations, supplier management, planning or related field
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of direct supply chain or production experience.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing SAP for inventory management.
  • 3+ years of professional working experience in biotech or medical device field, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional working knowledge analyzing data and making recommendations relating to inventory and materials management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in biotech or medical device field, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
  • 1+ years of experience working with an integrated business planning tool.
  • Professional working knowledge with developing reporting mechanisms to provide inventory visibility to leadership.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Salary Range:

$114,000.00 - $182,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
