Summary
The Sr. Manager, Program Management, leads those who manage cross-functional teams who are focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system from design to release for customers. One oversees scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of organizational programs. Aids with proposal development, contract negotiation and contract compliance. Proposal preparation may include assisting with plans, specifications and financial terms of the contract. Assists with business development initiatives. Ensures master plans and schedules are followed, developing solutions to program challenges, and directing others for successful completion of project on time and on budget. Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables

  • Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles

  • Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed

  • Assigns and monitors work of project/program management staff, providing technical support and direction

  • Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications

  • Prepare budgets, bids, or contracts; Review, recommend, or approve contracts or cost estimates

  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, or market demand

  • Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of architecture or engineering project staff

  • Develop and implement strategic policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work

  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers

  • Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant related experience

  • At least 4 years' experience in a people leadership role

  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services

  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

  • Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, while maintaining productive business partnerships

  • Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.

The salary range for this role is:

$147,500 - $225,000
