Position Summary (Why this role matters):

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a scalable learning ecosystem supporting physician and internal clinical education across HistoSonics indications and technology platforms. This role develops curriculum strategy, learning frameworks, and content standards that translate complex clinical, procedural, and technical information into effective education programs.

Working cross-functionally with Procedure Development, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Marketing, Commercial, Regulatory, and physician subject matter experts, this leader ensures learning solutions are clinically accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with evolving procedural best practices, product innovations, and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities (What you’ll do):

  • Lead learning strategy, curriculum architecture, and education development for physician and internal audiences across indications and technology platforms. 
  • Design scalable learning pathways that integrate foundational knowledge, procedural application, case-based learning, hands-on training, and competency assessment. 
  • Develop and maintain curriculum frameworks, instructional design standards, governance processes, and content lifecycle management practices. 
  • Lead the development of educational assets, including e-learning, instructor-led training, presentations, assessments, facilitator guides, and performance support tools. 
  • Design blended learning solutions that address learner needs and support business objectives. 
  • Partner with clinical experts and physician faculty to incorporate clinical evidence, procedural insights, and best practices into educational programs. 
  • Establish learning objectives, curriculum maps, assessment strategies, and competency frameworks to measure learner readiness and performance. 
  • Ensure curricula remain current with new indications, product releases, software updates, and evolving clinical evidence. 
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through learner performance metrics, assessments, stakeholder feedback, and business outcomes. 
  • Provide leadership and expertise in adult learning, instructional design, and competency-based education. 
  • Manage internal and external curriculum development resources, vendors, and learning partners as needed. 
  • Ensure all educational content complies with applicable regulatory, legal, and company requirements.

 Preferred Tools & Technologies

  • Articulate Storyline 360/Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Adobe After Effects, Vyond, Audacity, LMS platforms (Cornerstone, Docebo, Litmos, Absorb), Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Figma/Adobe XD, Zoom/Teams, and AI-enabled authoring/video tools (e.g., Synthesia).

 Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, Healthcare, Clinical Sciences, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in learning and development, curriculum design, clinical education, medical education, or a related field within healthcare, medical device, or life sciences organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience designing scalable learning programs, curriculum architectures, and competency-based development pathways for physician and/or clinical audiences.
  • Experience translating complex clinical, scientific, procedural, and technical concepts into effective learning solutions across multiple delivery formats.
  • Medical device industry experience, including support of procedure-based physician education, product launches, new indications, or clinical adoption initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with physician faculty, clinical subject matter experts, Medical Affairs, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop evidence-based educational content.
  • Experience establishing content development standards, governance processes, and curriculum lifecycle management practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional learning initiatives and managing internal and external development resources.
  • Experience with digital learning technologies, learning management systems, and modern content development tools preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in curriculum architecture, instructional design, adult learning principles, and competency-based education.
  • Strong ability to synthesize and communicate complex clinical, procedural, scientific, and technical information.
  • Experience designing digital, instructor-led, virtual, hands-on, and blended learning experiences.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA, the Sunshine Act, and interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with learning technologies, e-learning authoring tools, multimedia development platforms, and emerging AI-enabled content development solutions.
