We are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Procurement Senior Manager to build, lead, and optimize our indirect procurement function. Alongside the global supply chain team, this individual will be responsible for establishing scalable procurement policies, improving spend visibility, and driving cost‑effective purchasing across non‑direct categories. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in indirect procurement, has implemented procurement systems or modules (ideally integrated with NetSuite), and excels at working cross‑functionally to influence and align teams across the organization.
This role is critical in shaping Veracyte’s procurement foundation and will partner closely with Finance, Operations, IT, Legal, and functional business owners to drive consistent processes, governance, and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise‑wide strategies for indirect procurement across multiple spend categories (IT, facilities, professional services, marketing, corporate services, etc.).
- Lead the design, rollout, and ongoing management of procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance, visibility, and efficient purchasing.
- Champion the implementation and optimization of a procurement system (e.g., procure‑to‑pay, supplier onboarding, approvals workflows), ideally integrated with NetSuite.
- Partner cross‑functionally with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and provide cost‑effective sourcing solutions.
- Drive supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing supplier management to optimize value and mitigate risk.
- Establish and track procurement of KPIs, including savings, compliance, supplier performance, and cycle times.
- Develop standard operating procedures to support the centralization of procurement and ensure that stakeholders are trained and can access resources.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, data, and tools.
- Collaborate closely with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and spending reporting.
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals related to compliance, quality, sustainability, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of indirect procurement experience, ideally within life sciences, biotech, or diagnostics settings.
- Proven success in developing procurement policies, standardizing processes, and building an indirect procurement function from the ground up.
- Demonstrated experience implementing or optimizing procurement systems (procure‑to‑pay, vendor management, contract management), ideally with NetSuite‑integrated tools.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams.
- APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership abilities.

Work Arrangement
- Hybrid role based in San Francisco Bay Area or San Diego.

For candidates based in our San Diego office, the salary range is $162,000 - $178,000.
For candidates based in our South San Francisco office, the salary range is $163,000 - $183,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
