Job Description

The Senior Manager of Finance role, supports the Data Center HDD team, which sells enterprise-grade products into major Cloud, OEM, and Distribution customers. This role is responsible for driving forecasts, scenario planning, calling out risks and opportunities, and providing upper management with the analysis required to make sound, timely decisions. The role serves as the business partner for the BU OPS team, while also working across Sales, Mkt, Pricing, Cost, Inventory and Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for the Business Unit and Corp Finance for the forecast process
  • Coordinate and lead review sessions with BU and Finance groups to finalize financial projected volumes, Rev$, GP$, and GM%
  • Weekly tracking of key metrics with adjustments to the current quarter outlook
  • Identification of risks and opportunities related to supply constraints and/or demand strength, with risk mitigation
  • Measure and report forecast accuracy to drive model improvements
  • Collaborate with peers, Business Unit Teams, and Accounting on alignment for quarter-end plan attainment, and oversee the quarter close process
  • Maintain reports and present to Management and cross functional teams
  • Ongoing detailed analysis of customer and product performance and trends
  • Review and provide feedback on pricing strategies and margin enhancement
  • Develop and maintain integrated tools and reports to improve and automate processes
  • Manage, lead, and develop two analysts
  • Ad hoc requests as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related subject area with 7+ years of work experience
  • Ability to take divergent sources of data, break it down to concise messaging, and provide a comprehensive picture to help management make decisions
  • High level of business acumen
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to close issues
  • Hard worker, who can anticipate, prioritize and adjust quickly
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Understanding of systems and the ability to provide dashboard reporting
  • Excellent cross functional process management and collaboration skills
  • Expert Excel, modelling, and PPT skills

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
