About the role.... 

The Sr. Manager, Controlled Environment Operations will lead the planning, process development, and overall strategy of the controlled environment program.  This role will work across a diverse group of teams and stakeholders across Inari to help coordinate the planning, strategy, and execution of work and resources to support project pipelines, discovery projects, and additional early-stage product development activities.  The candidate must possess strong leadership skills, enjoy a rapid paced atmosphere, be flexible, have exceptional communication & collaboration skills, show initiative, and good judgment to achieve established goals and deliverables. This role is on-site in West Lafayette, IN and reports to the Senior Director, Product Development Operations. 

 

As the Sr. Manager of the Controlled Environment Operations you will… 

 

  • Provide leadership of people and teams within the Controlled Environment Operations program. 
  • Own the coordination, allocation, and prioritization of space & resources across projects by working with multiple stakeholders to develop timelines/deadlines to ensure successful execution of plans. 
  • Effectively communicate, through an open dialogue, across and within teams to drive alignment.  
  • Own the development of the Controlled Environment Operations strategy to enable product development activities that are aligned with company milestones & goals. 
  • Partner with project owners and key stakeholders to build short, mid, and long term product development plans as they relate to the controlled environment program. 
  • Generate the mechanisms for planning, tracking, and execution of all Controlled Environment related activities.  
  • Balance resources and project requests with Inari’s short, mid, and longer term goals. 
  • Develop and track KPI’s for the Controlled Environment Operations program. 
  • Have experience conducting or supporting research in controlled environment applications. 
  • Own the development and implementation of new processes while consistently looking for process improvement opportunities within the Controlled Environment Operations.   
  • Assume the primary responsibility for ensuring documentation of all regulatory, environmental, and safety activities related to the Controlled Environment Operations program. 
  • Lead or support EHS and Quality program activities within the Controlled Environment Operations program. 

 

You Bring… 

  • BS degree (MS Preferred) in Horticulture, Agronomy, Biology, or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience leading controlled environment programs.  
  • Significant knowledge of controlled environment production practices and facilities. 
  • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback. 
  • Experience effectively managing people and leading teams.  
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences. 
  • Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment. 
  • Systems thinking – able to think critically, conceptually, and analytically about systems and procedures  
  • Sound and accurate judgment; accountable for decisions made within the scope of responsibility and focused on meeting established short-term goals and long-term objectives  
  • Experience with project management, business development, or project coordination is desirable. 
  • A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions. 
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning.
