As a Sr. Manager, Business Development National Accounts supporting Vision Care Sales Team you will be trusted to work on a dual-focused role within the US Vision Care organization combining responsibilities for a large revenue key account customer (60-120M), as well as a lead role in Tele-Optometry and Managed Care. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of national sales strategy, account management, and emerging telehealth technologies in the optometry space in Fort Worth, TX

In this role, a typical day will include:

National Account Director (50%):

  • Account Leadership: Own and manage the national customer account, developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to maximize growth, drive customer satisfaction, and build long-term partnerships.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a sales strategy tailored to the client’s needs, identifying opportunities for expansion, optimizing  product  offerings,  and  meeting  quarterly  and  annual  sales  targets.  Anticipate  likely  market  and  customer developments to take a long-term perspective on the account.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all strategic interactions with the client, cultivating strong, trusted relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Revenue & Growth: Drive revenue growth by negotiating complex contracts, cross-selling solutions, and identifying new revenue streams to meet and exceed targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams such as marketing, operations, finance, and product development to ensure the seamless execution of both organization and customer requirements and needs.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide regular reporting on account performance, sales progress, and any challenges to senior leadership, offering actionable recommendations for success.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for managed care contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the customer and the organization, while supporting access to tele-optometry and other virtual care services.

Tele-Optometry, Managed Care Lead (50%):

  • Customer Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by targeting potential clients in the optometry, healthcare, and telemedicine sectors. Conduct outreach, build relationships, and develop tailored sales presentations to win new accounts
  • Market Expansion: Identify and research new market segments for tele-optometry adoption, including healthcare systems, insurance providers, urgent care facilities, and retail clinics. Develop tailored strategies for penetrating these markets and increasing awareness of tele-optometry.
  • Tele-Optometry Strategy Development: Support the development and execution of tele-optometry strategy among key accounts to help field both influence and pull though contact lens sales. Virtual Patient Journey Optimization: Understand end-to-end virtual patient journeys from appointment scheduling to consultation and follow-up care.
  • Tele-Optometry Education & Consultation: Serve as an expert in tele-optometry, educating USVC about the benefits of virtual eye care services, including remote eye exams, consultations, and follow-up care.
  • Managed Care Collaboration: Work with payer organizations and healthcare providers to build managed care models that incorporate tele-optometry services, ensuring adequate coverage, reimbursement, and access for patients. Ensure alignment with payer requirements, such as telemedicine reimbursement policies and remote exam protocols
  • Patient Engagement: Drive patient engagement initiatives through innovative digital marketing strategies, educational content, and personalized outreach to ensure maximum utilization of virtual services.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current on trends in telehealth, optometry, and patient care technology, leveraging this knowledge to influence the direction of new offerings and refine virtual patient journeys.
  • Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and nurture partnerships with external providers, technology vendors, and healthcare stakeholders to enhance tele-optometry offerings and ensure a high level of service for patients.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs.; Assoc.+11 yrs.; M.S.+4 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
