Job Description
 

Gilead Sciences is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercializes innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. Kite is singularly focusing on curing cancer through delivering cell therapy. We are at the forefront of immunotherapy and engineered T cell therapy. Our personalized approach is what sets us apart. Unlike traditional pharmaceutical manufacturing, our therapies are not created on an assembly line. With CAR T-cell therapy, we are reengineering a patient’s own immune cells to fight cancer — one patient at a time. To achieve this goal, Kite BU in Gilead Sciences Japan is in charge of Kite business in Japan.

Gilead Sciences Japan is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated professional capable of working effectively in a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will assume a full- time employment in the Kite Business Unit and report to Director of Kite Marketing in Tokyo.

In this Kite Marketing, Product Manager, S/he leads new product launch project. S/he develops commercial strategy and action plans, develops relationships with opinion leaders and develops and implements the promotional communication strategy and tactics for new products which will be launched in Japanese market. S/he works closely with current commercial product management team and collaborate each other.

  

Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop the commercial strategy and action plans for new products in Japanese market by leveraging the global and regional strategy and plans

  • Work closely with current commercialized product management team and support each other

  • Develop effective working relationships with opinion leaders and other key stakeholders to establish Kite’s pipeline in Japan

  • Partner with Cross-functional team such as Clinical, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs and Public Affairs to ensure effective development and implementation of strategies

  • Utilize high level of business acumen in analyzing and coordinating activities from identified industry trends, competitor’s resources and practices

  • Develop and implement the promotional communication strategy and tactics ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy

  • Work alongside the global, US, EU and international marketing colleagues to develop and produce compliant promotional materials

  • Manage external agency constructing good relationships (i.e., advertising, public relations, medical education vendors) to develop promotional deliverables

  • Manage the marketing budget (OPEX) and project timelines

  • Drive excellence in commercial efforts, including business planning and forecasting

  • Ensure all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements

Requirement (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills)

  • Demonstrated experience within the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry to include familiarity with marketing / sales strategy and tactics, as well as commercial policies and practices within specialty care

  • Thorough understanding hematology / oncology clinical landscape and the business of cell therapy

  • Demonstrated track record of successful product launches and / or sustained commercial growth

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams with excellent interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans

  • Ability to develop, maintain and utilize a high level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of cell therapies to opinion leaders

  • Excellent and demonstrable command of written and spoken English and proficiency at communicating verbally and in written form

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degree in similar field

  • Recent B cell malignancy / oncology experience and understanding of the funding and clinical challenges in this area
