Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux System Administrator / System Engineer to support a high-visibility mission environment within the Intelligence Community. This role requires deep expertise in Linux system administration, virtualization, automation, and security compliance, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems (RHEL/CentOS) in a secure enterprise environment
- Support mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on availability, performance, and security
- Create, configure, and manage VMware virtual machines
- Install, configure, and maintain JBoss application environments
- Implement automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Support security compliance initiatives and system hardening efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage, networking, and security domains
- Provide support for 24x7 operations, including on-call and after-hours response
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator/Engineer
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Strong expertise with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) environments
- Experience with VMware VM creation, configuration, and operations
- Security+ Certification (required)
- Experience supporting IC (Intelligence Community) mission environments
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Active or recent SYS3 Privileged Access
- Extensive experience with JBoss installation, configuration, and administration
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Storage systems and administration
- Networking fundamentals and infrastructure support
- Security compliance and auditing
- Authentication systems
- Scripting with Shell and/or Python
- Physical server administration
- Experience with Oracle Database and potential DBA exposure
- Familiarity with JSON (JavaScript Object Notation)
