As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within FICC eTrading, you will join an agile team building and supporting market-leading electronic trading platforms. You will deliver critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm’s objectives, with a strong focus on engineering excellence, operational stability, and secure software delivery.
The FICC eTrading team partners with Global FICC businesses to deliver solutions for electronic trading across client and dealer markets, spanning a wide range of products including Rates, FX, Commodities, and Credit. The team is based predominantly in APAC, New York, London, and Athens and supports businesses globally.
This role is based in Athens, Greece.
Job responsibilities- Design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software solutions for electronic trading systems, from requirements through production rollout
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient
- Build and maintain low-latency, high-throughput services with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and correctness
- Integrate services with internal and external systems, ensuring well-defined interfaces, robust error handling, and operational readiness
- Own production outcomes by participating in on-call/support, triaging incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and driving permanent fixes
- Improve engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and continuous refactoring to strengthen system health
- Identify recurring issues and data/operational patterns, and translate insights into measurable improvements in stability and developer productivity
- Contribute to an inclusive team culture and actively engage in communities of practice to evaluate and adopt relevant emerging technologies
- Strong OOP/design patterns understanding and clean code practices
- Strong coding skills in Java and Spring with solid fundamentals
- Proven, hands-on experience across system design, application development, testing, and production support
- Experience with FIX protocol
