The Senior Java Backend Engineer will join teams building and maintaining business-critical, high-availability platforms for a global enterprise client. This role focuses on backend development, distributed systems, and service integrations in complex, regulated, and large-scale environments. The ideal candidate has a strong Java background, experience with microservices architectures, and the ability to work closely with both technology and business teams.

Design, develop, and maintain Java backend services for core business platforms.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs within microservices-based architectures.
Participate in modernization and evolution of existing systems.
Collaborate within agile (Scrum) teams across technology and business domains.
Ensure code quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
Participate in continuous deployment processes and production support.
Contribute technical judgment to design and architectural decisions.
Requirements
8+ years of experience developing enterprise Java backend applications.
Strong experience building and integrating REST APIs.
Hands-on experience with microservices architectures.
Solid experience with relational databases, including:
Oracle SQL
MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or SQL Server
Experience working in agile environments (Scrum).
Strong background working in Linux environments.
Experience with high-transactional or mission-critical systems (banking, government, large enterprises).
Strong autonomy, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication with technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Frontend experience with Angular or AngularJS.
Experience with .NET / .NET Core.
Background working with complex integrations or legacy systems.
