Atkore is currently investing in its digital capabilities to expand our Web platforms and Salesforce.com system of engagement, and to migrate outdated systems to our core standard solutions. To support our digital growth, Atkore is seeking an experienced Sr IT Web Platform Developer to support our digital roadmap and the expansion of our digital capabilities. This position is in Mokena -IL/ Dallas -TX and will report to the Web Solutions Manager of IT Digital Platforms.
What you’ll do:
As part of the IT Digital Platforms team, you will work closely with Digital Platforms, Salesforce, JD Edwards ERP and IT Shared Services. The platform developer will be a resident expert on web technologies. As web platform developer you will be a member of the IT Digital Platforms department and support multiple groups and project teams with subject matter expertise in the capabilities of our solutions and environments.
- Develop and maintain Sitecore websites and applications.
- Create Sitecore templates, renderings, components, layouts, and content structures.
- Configure Sitecore items, workflows, roles, and permissions.
- Develop Sitecore solutions using React and NextJS
- Work with Sitecore APIs, pipelines, services, and personalization features.
- Support Sitecore upgrades, migrations, and performance improvements.
- Troubleshoot Sitecore publishing, caching, indexing, and content-delivery issues.
- Build applications and services using C#, ASP.NET Core / ASP.NET MVC, React, and NextJS.
- Develop REST APIs and integrate third-party systems.
- Implement business logic, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- Work with SQL Server, Oracle, and database queries.
- Write reusable, maintainable, and testable code.
- Integrate front-end applications with Sitecore and .NET APIs.
- Monitor application performance, scalability, security, and availability.
- Participate in CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and deployment.

- Participate actively in internal Lean and Kaizen continuous improvement events focused on customer areas.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Hands on expertise in Sitecore technologies, including XM Cloud, Content Hub, Search, CDP, Personalization, and Commerce Cloud.
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft technology stack: C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, and SQL Server.
- Strong skills in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including frameworks like Angular or React.
- Experience with databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, along with familiarity with Sitecore xDB and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience in integrating systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with development and deployment tools including Visual Studio, Git, Jira, and Team Foundation Server.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and team leadership.
- Typically requires 5+ years of IT experience, with significant time spent in Sitecore and Net development
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of delivering on commitments while balancing multiple priorities.

Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Get access to Sitecore environments, source control, CI/CD tools, and Azure/cloud resources
- Learn Atkore's existing Sitecore architecture, templates, renderings, and content structures
- Review existing documentation on solutions, processes, and architecture
- Configure and troubleshoot Sitecore items, workflows, roles, and permissions
- Begin fixing bugs and making small enhancements to existing C#/.NET and Sitecore code
- Learn database structure (SQL Server, Oracle) and how the applications query/interact with them
- Start contributing to code reviews and following existing testing/deployment practices
- Understand relationships with Shared Services, Infrastructure, and third-party integrators
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Independently develop new Sitecore templates, components, and layouts for active projects
- Take ownership of specific Sitecore pipelines, services, or personalization features
- Actively participate in CI/CD pipeline usage — build, test, and deploy independently
- Contribute to performance monitoring (scalability, security, availability)
- Begin exploring AI features within Sitecore (personalization, automation, analytics) on a project
- Write and maintain documentation for the solutions they build
Within 12 months, you’ll:
- Serve as a go-to technical resource guiding third-party integrators, analysts, developers, and PMs
- Design and maintain system environments in partnership with Shared Services/Infrastructure
- Improve our Sitecore search and capabilities
- Own AI-driven Sitecore initiatives (personalization, automation, analytics) end-to-end
- Architect reusable, maintainable, testable solutions rather than just implementing tickets
- Build out or significantly improve documentation standards across the team
- Take a leadership role in Lean/Kaizen events — proposing and driving improvements, not just participating

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $104,800 - $144,100. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
