Sr IT Project Mgmt Specialist

As a Sr IT Project Mgmt Specialist here at Honeywell, you will lead and mentor a team, align IT strategies with business goals, and ensure project success within quality, budget, and timeline expectations. You will report directly to our Sr IT Director, and you’ll work out of our San Luis Potosí Mexico location on a Hybrid work schedule.

As a Sr IT Project Mgmt Specialist here at Honeywell Technologies, you will lead IT for Maquiladora process / filing. We are seeking an experienced individual to support business with IMMEX, PROSEC (sector promotion program) or Maquila schemes. Collaborate with Foreign trade team to support third party application enabling business to stay compliant with local with laws, regulations, and requirements issued by customs, tax, and fiscal authorities. 
Collaborating closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams, you will align IT project strategies with business objectives. With your guidance, we'll navigate the complexities of project management, delivering projects that meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations. You will work out of our San Luis Potosi, Mexico location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the successful planning, execution, and delivery of technology (IT) projects that support Honeywell Technologies ’s Maquiladora process.

• Collaborate closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to define and execute IT project strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring they drive innovation and operational efficiency.
• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
• Collaborate with the foreign trade team to ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, and requirements issued by customs, tax, and fiscal authorities for Maquiladora program
• Provide support for daily customs operations activities.
• Review customs law reforms and coordinate with Tax, Legal, Fiscal, and Production departments to ensure due diligence.
• Monitor and follow up on strategies implemented to comply with legal reforms issued by federal and state governments, as well as international treaties.
• Responsible for executing process improvements to comply with customs regulations and/or export control requirements. 
• Work with application vendor to ensure we are current on functionality, app version, etc. This will be core responsibilities so that Honeywell Technologies stays in compliance with Trade operations
• Responsible for executing process improvements to comply with customs regulations and/or export control requirements.
• Provide data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency and support data-informed decision-making.
• Conduct in-depth IT assessments, risk analysis, and recommend strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities.
   

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred majors: International Relations, Foreign Trade, International Business, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
• 7+ years of experience in supporting business from IT perspective on customs documentation audits, Non-Tariff Regulations and Restrictions (RRNA) and legal interpretation
• You must have experience with IMMEX, PROSEC, or Maquila schemes
• Knowledge of import/export processes and global trade regulations, international treaties and Incoterms
• Knowledge of software related to customs operations (Annex 24 and 30, accounting records, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trade management software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent English communication (verbal and written), certifications will be preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor a high-performing team.
• Proven success in delivering complex IT projects, meeting quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
