Team Description

The Asset Liquidity and Funding Analytics Technology team at TD Securities is seeking an experienced Full-stack Engineer to build the next generation of a risk computation platform. The core mission of the application we build is to help the firm quantify, understand, and reduce our external total exposure in case of adverse market conditions. We operate within a modern and complex area of finance, operating with sophisticated computational models, supporting billions of calculations daily and leveraging Big Data storage for analytics and data distribution.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual who looks forward to being a strong contributor in a dynamic technology organization at a major bank. This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business, providing front-to-back funding and liquidity metrics across a spectrum of capital market products.

Working closely with our business partners across trading, treasury and risk management, the successful candidate will work across a variety of projects:

• Architect and develop comprehensive end-to-end detailed solution with overall accountability for the technical design and delivery of the System Design Specification (SDS)
• Exposure to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects
• Influence strategic technology solutions on the cutting edge
• Develop tooling and processes to enhance the efficiency of the team

The successful candidate should also demonstrate a strong affinity with the following:

• Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams at TD to solve business and technology challenges
• Provide technical leadership to the group and beyond, adopt a scalability and stability-first approach to design and implementation
• Adopt a client-centric approach in support of our business growth models
• Leverage industry standard DevOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, TDD and build tools

Technical Skills

• 8+ years of Java experience, with a strong understanding of JVM internals
• Experience of the Spring stack and experience in microservice development using Spring Boot
• Experience of Big Data technologies (Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, or similar)
• Experience in designing and integrating with REST API endpoints
• Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL
• Experience of Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven / Gradle), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment
• Strong understanding of system design and scalability
• Familiarity with application monitoring solutions and KPIs
• Strong understanding of clean coding practices
• Knowledge of the following would be a plus: 
  • Experience of messaging technologies (preferably Kafka)
  • Azure (preferable) or AWS, Google Cloud
  • Angular, React 

Non-Technical Skills

• Experience in collaborating efficiently within a global team
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment, and supportive of flexible goals aligned with business priorities
• Knowledge of capital markets products is a plus
