What You'll Do
You will prepare monthly and external financial statements, including analytical reviews and footnote disclosures, and maintain share-based compensation activity reports. You will perform quarterly earnings per share calculations, support annual goodwill impairment testing, assist with quarterly MD&A and non-GAAP disclosures, and liaise with investor relations for earnings releases. You will also optimize financial reporting processes, ensure SOX controls documentation, conduct technical accounting research, and assist internal and external auditors, with occasional travel required.
Essential Functions
- Prepare monthly reporting packages with financial statements and analytical review of significant variances.
- Prepare external financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statements of shareholders' equity, and statements of cash flows.
- Prepare footnote disclosures for interim and year-end financial statements and complete related GAAP checklist.
- Maintain share-based compensation activity reports and prepare related disclosures for financial statements and annual proxy.
- Perform quarterly earnings per share calculation and support annual goodwill impairment testing procedures.
- Assist with quarterly MD&A and non-GAAP disclosures and liaise with investor relations for earnings releases and calls.
- Optimize financial reporting processes, ensure SOX controls documentation, conduct technical accounting research, and assist auditors.
- Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Minimum 2 years of financial reporting experience required.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements required.
- SOX compliance experience required and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, as well as experience using accounting software systems and forecasting or budgeting tools required.
What Could Set You Apart
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, or other large ERP systems.
- Experience using and implementing Workiva.
- Experience using accounting research tools such as CCH or Checkpoint Learning.
- Big 4 audit experience with public company clients.
- REIT experience.

Physical Requirements
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
- Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
- May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
- May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
- May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
