Sr. Financial Analyst
Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a knowledgeable and talented Senior Financial Analyst within the FP&A department. You will be responsible for building out core financial workflows, key performance indicators, and supporting the implementation of a new performance management system. You will actively partner with internal, finance stakeholders and business software partners. The ideal candidate is driven, agile, and maintains a strong analytic approach to problems.
What You'll Do
- Develop key performance indicators with operational teams to enhance data interpretation.
- Develop business cases, investment / ROI summaries, and completing ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Calculate commissions for sales representatives partnering with Sales Operations and Accounting
- Create and maintain financial models to support the product/new business initiatives, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Automate and streamline monthly reporting.
- Support consolidation and reporting of operational data and metrics while providing insights and driving measurable results through strong influencing and collaboration skills.
- Interpret the data into actionable items and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive measurable results with a sense of urgency.
- Lead development and enhancement of dashboards and reporting packages to drive improved business results.
What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:
- Can work hybrid (one day a week) in our Chicago office
Your experience should include some or all of the following:
- 5+ years of related FP&A and business partnership
- Experience in software, internet, SaaS, or related industries preferred.
- Excel expertise, with the ability to build and manage complex models.
- Excellent financial management and analytical skills, with a deep and demonstrated understanding of financial modeling and analysis tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, in particular, an understanding of key financial and operational needle movers.
- Willingness to accept new challenges, and a high level of curiosity and creativity as it relates to new projects and problem-solving
- High energy and initiative
- Excellent with numbers, math & logic
- Passionate about business: you like to understand what drives a business, and try to identify opportunities to go after and risks to mitigate
- Knowledgeable about SaaS business industry and the metrics behind it
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of finance, business, or related disciplines
