Position Overview:
To support the North American Operations of Magna Powertrain in the consolidation and financial reporting processes, including monthly analysis of operating results, validation of data accuracy and integrity across various financial systems, participation in monthly operating results meetings, and support of other financial projects and initiatives. Additionally, co-develop and support the Magna Powertrain global Business Planning and Forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, financial requirements, and operational priorities.
Salary : Starting at $90,000 + Annual Discretionary Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Assist in the preparation of the monthly First Indication Report (FIR) to communicate Group financial results.
Generate and distribute key monthly financial reports to management.
Prepare the monthly P&L summary by division and present key results and variances to the Product Group Finance Team.
Identify and bring visibility to potential exceptions to Magna’s accounting policies and procedures.
Assist in preparing financial presentations for quarterly review meetings, highlighting key financial results, trends, and variances.
Prepare quarterly financial schedules and reporting packages for submission to Magna International to support external reporting requirements.
Consolidation
Lead the overall consolidation of Group financial results, ensuring adherence to MPT and Magna reporting timelines, including coordinating and managing the divisional results load into OneStream.
Review divisional balance sheets to identify and understand significant fluctuations, unusual movements, and key financial risk areas.
Ensure appropriate month-end supporting documentation is maintained online and readily available to support internal and external audit requirements.
Follow up with divisions to resolve data integrity issues and OneStream-related discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Business Planning and Forecasting
Lead the consolidation and standardized financial reporting of the Group’s annual 7-Year Business Plan, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting requirements.
Assist in reviewing divisional Business Plans to assess reasonability of key financial assumptions, including sales, margins, P&L rolls, and other major drivers.
Support divisional controllers with OneStream submissions, including load templates, troubleshooting, and resolution of data integrity issues.
Analyze and consolidate quarterly divisional forecasts, identifying key trends, variances, and risks for Group-level reporting.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecast and Business Plan presentations for MPT management, highlighting key financial drivers and changes.
Implement and execute a Rolling 3-Month Forecast for the Product Group to improve visibility into near-term financial performance.
Validate Campfire volumes used in Business Plans and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the latest available volume assumptions and customer outlook.
Other
Assist with planning and communication of reporting timelines to divisions, including quarter-end, Business Plan, and forecast requirements.
Act as the liaison between divisions and the MPT Capital team, coordinating capital requirements and available funding for actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
Review annual divisional audit files to ensure compliance with Magna’s accounting policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Support divisions in maintaining lease information in Lease Accelerator, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of recorded data.
Support the MPT Corporate Finance team and Product Group with ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and special projects as required.
Assist with the implementation and rollout of Magna’s variance reporting process, supporting consistent reporting and analysis across divisions.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in business, commerce, accounting or a related discipline
Pursuing a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience, with exposure to a general accounting or financial consolidation system
Knowledge of Canadian GAAP
Strong financial & data analysis skills
Strong computer application skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, OneStream)
Good verbal and written communication skills combined with interpersonal skills
