As a Sr. Export Compliance Officer, you will have a significant impact on the company's global operations and compliance success. You will have responsibility for developing and implement export compliance policies & procedures to support Honeywell Aerospace’s manufacturing and business operations in Mexico and contribute to minimizing risks and avoiding penalties for the US-Mexico cross border compliance operation. This position reports directly to an Export Compliance Manager in the United States, and you will work out of our Mexicali or Chihuahua location in Mexico on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary focal to support Honeywell Aerospace’s manufacturing and business operations in Mexico as related to export compliance matters impacting those sites 
  •  Develop and implement export compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to US-Mexico export regulations 
  •  Perform quarterly compliance audits, assessment, investigation and disclosure 
  • Support U.S export authorizations involving HONA Mexico sites. For example, ensuring compliance with complex provisos/conditions for those authorizations 
  •  Integrate export compliance strategy into the local IMMEX program to ensure operational excellence for manufacturing, engineering, repair and overhaul services within Mexico sites. 
  •  Deliver export compliance training to local Honeywell Aerospace employees. 
  •  Maintain complete and accurate records of export activities in support of regulatory reporting requirements (i.e MLA, Offshore Procurement, etc.) 
  •  Assist with reviewing, updating, and implementing Mexico site technology control plans • Monitor regulatory changes and develop action plans to meet compliance requirements.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in trade, business, law, logistics, supply-chain operation or a related field 
  •  2+ years related work experience in the aerospace and defense industry or a comparable regulated industry 
  •  Experienced with Mexico’s Customs Law (Ley Aduanera), and/or U.S Foreign Trade Regulation (FTR)

  • Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulation (EAR), and/or the Office of Foreign Assets Controls (OFAC) regulations 
  •  Knowledge and experience with the import and export of hardware/commodities, software, technology/technical data, deemed export, re-exports, technical assistance/defense services etc.
