Summary Generated by Built In

Our core competencies include systems engineering, program management, logistics, production support, aircraft maintenance, and aviation/aerospace services. We were founded in 2015 and since our establishment, we have been attracting the best talent in our fields of interest enabling us to provide cutting-edge solutions and support to our warfighters. We understand and provide expert consultation on weapons systems acquisition programs, maintenance/modernization programs, and sustainment programs. We know defense and we know aircraft systems.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design, integration, and validation of electrical systems supporting advanced defense applications, including unmanned systems, sensor payloads, and mission-critical electronics. This role emphasizes end-to-end system design, from power architecture and signal flow to subsystem integration and field performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who understands how electrical subsystems interact within a larger system and can drive solutions from concept through prototype, integration, and operational deployment in fast-paced environments.

Essential Job Functions:
• Define and develop electrical system architectures, including power distribution, signal flow, grounding schemes, and interface definitions
• Own system-level electrical design across multiple subsystems (sensors, processing, communications, power)
• Perform trade studies to balance performance, SWaP, reliability, and cost
• Develop and maintain system-level documentation including ICDs, wiring diagrams, and TDPs
• Lead electrical integration across multidisciplinary systems (mechanical, software, sensors, communications)
• Support system bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting at the platform level
• Identify and resolve cross-domain issues (power instability, grounding, noise, interface mismatches)
• Work closely with systems engineering to ensure requirements traceability and verification
• Design and analyze system-level power architectures, including battery interfaces, distribution, protection, and load management
• Support higher-voltage and high-current systems (e.g., ~100VDC)
• Evaluate power budgets and ensure system stability across all operating conditions
• Integrate sensors such as LiDAR, EO/IR, RF, IMUs, and GPS into cohesive system architectures
• Define electrical interfaces, timing, synchronization, and data flow between subsystems
• Support signal chain validation from sensor output through processing and control
• Perform system-level electrical analysis including power budgets, noise/EMI considerations, and interface integrity
• Develop and execute integration and verification test plans
• Support environmental and electromagnetic qualification aligned with MIL standards
• Participate in lab, range, and field testing to validate system performance
• Support rapid build-test-iterate cycles with a focus on delivering integrated system capability quickly
• Guide subsystem design efforts without being solely focused on board-level design
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during prototype and integration phases
• Ensure system designs are manufacturable and supportable for low-rate production
• Interface with suppliers and internal teams for integration, test, and production readiness
• Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and integration (DFI)
• Support engineering milestones including SRR, PDR, CDR, and test readiness reviews
• Provide technical leadership within IPTs
• Identify risks at the system level and drive mitigation strategies
• Support proposal efforts and technical planning for new programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 8+ years of experience with significant system-level design and integration experience
• Strong understanding of electrical architectures, power systems, and subsystem integration
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
• Hands-on experience with system integration, test, and troubleshooting
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, hardware-focused environments
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/hold a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with UAVs, sensor payloads, or guided systems
• Background in LiDAR, proximity sensing, or multi-sensor integration
• Experience with high-voltage or high-power systems (e.g., ~100VDC)
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC design and compliance
• Experience defining and managing electrical interfaces (ICDs)
• Exposure to distributed systems and real-time data architectures
• Experience supporting field testing or deployments

Work Environment

• Mix of office, lab, and field test environments
• Frequent hands-on interaction with integrated systems and hardware
• Occasional travel for integration and field testing

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional visits to engineering or manufacturing environments as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Schedule:

M-F, 8-5 -Central Time.  Ability to work after hours during the week and weekends, as the workload requires.

Note:  The duties and responsibilities described on this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the teammate from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

Reasonable Accommodations

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
