Role Summary:
A critical priority for the Pfizer Vaccines portfolio is to help ensure all patients, regardless of background, have equal access to recommended vaccines and to help public customers overcome barriers to pediatric, adolescent and adult immunization. The Vaccines Public Health Marketing Lead will serve as the subject matter expert and lead the development of the overarching Pfizer Vaccines Public Business strategy and commercial execution to drive a $1B+ public vaccines business. The strategic plan will support Pfizer Vaccines portfolio of products and encompass public customers including the CDC, State Departments of Health, Universal Purchase (UP) States, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Department of Defense (DOD) and Veterans Administration (VA). This role will partner with a broad set of cross functional stakeholders including Brand Marketing, Market Shaping, Public Affairs, Consumer and Customer Facing Teams.
The Public Health Marketing Lead will serve as a member of the US Vaccines Public Health Marketing/HIT Team which operates in an environment that embraces and encourages implementation of innovative ideas and creates a culture of collaboration and teamwork. The candidate will lead the Director, Public Health Marketing with the potential for future team expansion. This role requires strong US business/marketing acumen, excellent strategic thinking and project management skills, the ability to lead and work collaboratively across disciplines, the ability to translate insights into action as well as outstanding leadership and strong communication skills. This position is based in Pfizer's Collegeville or New York Headquarter locations and reports to the US Vaccines Public Health Marketing/HIT Lead.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of public sector forecasts, plans, strategies, and operational commitments and ensure delivery of all Op Plan commitments.
  • Develop and execute an integrated public business strategy to ensure success and uptake of Pfizer Vaccines in the public sector (CDC, VFC, Universal Purchase States, VFA, FQHC, VA, DOD and accounts with a mix of public & private business).
  • Develop effective strategies and tactics to drive underlying demand in the public business overall and in targeted areas to ensure the most vulnerable patients are up to date on missed vaccinations.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring of public performance across brands and channels with routine updates to Brand Teams and Senior Leadership.
  • Lead presentations to Pfizer Vaccines senior leaders to secure endorsement for Public Health Marketing strategic and tactical recommendations.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders involved in the development Public Marketing strategies and tactics including but not limited to Brand Marketing, Market Shaping, Legal, Public Affairs, Consumer and Customer Facing Teams.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with Brand teams to enable effective strategic and tactical coordination by customer segment/channel to maximize our vaccines portfolio public segment opportunities.
  • Partner with Public Sector Lead, Market Shaping Team, CDC and other internal and external stakeholders to help address immunization disparities in the publicly insured/underinsured population.
  • Oversee the development of tools, programs and messaging to increase vaccine adoption and adherence in public sector channels.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with the US sales and accounts team to ensure seamless execution of public strategies.
  • Support training and other initiatives to advance public business acumen among Customer Facing Colleagues.
  • Provide strategic direction, management oversight of direct reports including coaching, goal setting and ongoing performance assessments (direct reports include Director, Vaccines Public Health Marketing with potential future expansion).
  • Support developmental and training opportunities for direct reports.
  • Represent the US Vaccines Public Health Marketing/HIT Team as an enterprise leader during cross-functional team meetings.
  • Participate and contribute as an active U.S. Public Health Marketing & HIT Team member.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 or more years of experience, 13 years with MBA, 10 years with PhD/equivalent
  • US pharmaceutical experience
  • Strong familiarity with US marketing and public health landscape including CDC, FQHCs, VA, DOD, HCPs, Medical Groups / Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and Payers
  • Previous team leadership experience
  • Proven collaboration skills to effectively influence, guide, coach peers and other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create positive business impact.
  • Ability to bring strategy and analysis to a tactical, execution level; results oriented.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a team-based environment and partner with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Review Committee approval process
  • Strong business acumen, project management, marketing execution and strategic thinking skills with demonstrated flexibility.
  • Ability to navigate internal organization and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to mobilize key stakeholders and engage senior leadership.
  • Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with company polices and an absolute commitment and adherence to applicable compliance rules, regulations and Pfizer values.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, MPH or similar
  • VFC/Public business knowledge

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 0.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
