Job Summary
Effectv's day-to-day business, technology and data transformation, and growth strategy are all dependent on third party partners. Partners fuel each step in our prospect-to-pay cycle. They enable planning, activation, delivery, and billing of every campaign and therefore, every dollar of Effectv revenue. The backbone of Effectv Partnerships is a clearly defined set of decision points and action items. Effectv Partnerships established and centralized a standard process for vetting, onboarding, and reviewing third party engagements. The team, led by the Sr. Director of Partnerships, oversees the successful execution of every step and ensures that stakeholders from across Effectv and CA functions are engaged at the appropriate time. Effectv's partner portfolio consists of over 150 third party engagements spanning research & data, software maintenance & licenses, traffic & platform, outside services, demand side platforms, and cloud services. The Effectv Partnerships team, led by the Sr. Director of Partnerships, oversees every one of these relationships: representing the needs of our business, safeguarding the privacy and security of our data and systems, and negotiating commercial terms that drive savings to our bottom line. About 40% of these engagements renew annually and provide an opportunity to revisit business needs and ensure tight alignment between our investments and our strategic priorities. The Sr. Director of Partnerships understands Effectv's business, our value proposition in the marketplace, and our tech and product roadmap. They stay current on developments in the advertising industry by attending onsite conferences and events and maintain a finger on the pulse of players in the ad tech and data ecosystem through recurring in-person and virtual meetings. The Snr. Director is responsible for nurturing interpersonal relationships with senior executives from key partners and facilitating thought leadership discussions with the Effectv executive team at intermittent in-person Strategic Partner Summit meetings. They bring a fresh perspective on how Effectv can achieve its business goals more efficiently and more effectively by partnering with third-parties that are leaders in their space. The Sr. Director of Partnerships is responsible for identifying and strategizing plans to achieve long-term goals and objectives of the organization. Recommends the allocation of resources to existing businesses; identifies merger and acquisition opportunities. Plans the overall direction and financial planning of the Strategic Planning & Partnerships department. Provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster interpersonal relationships with business and technology executives within third-party companies through recurring in-person and virtual meetings. Attend onsite industry events and partner engagements to stay current on trends in viewership, advertising, technology, and data. Host regular business reviews onsite with strategic partners to understand and influence their product and technology roadmaps in service of Effectv business objectives.


  • Oversee and manage the portfolio of 150+ third party partner engagements that underpin Effectv's business and facilitate our strategic growth. Provide the organization with visibility into the products and services made available via partnerships, to maximize value derived from our agreements.


  • Support business leadership as a thought partner, discussing near-term business needs and longer-term strategic objectives, and ways to meet them via partnerships. Host recurring information and alignment sessions in-person with functional leadership across Effectv and Comcast Advertising. Ensure that commercial terms with partners support Comcast Advertising and Effectv business strategy and financial obligations.


  • Collaborate with Effectv Procurement and Effectv business owners via in-person and virtual meetings to renew partner agreements and optimize the set of partners proactively and as opportunities arise. Negotiate commercial terms and where applicable, leverage broader Comcast NBCU partner relationships.


  • Manage the end-to-end partner onboarding process by which engagements are initiated and activated. Provide the organization with clear guidance, engender trust and adherence to process, and proactively addressed opportunities to improve execution. Uphold compliance with Comcast third party security, data privacy and legal requirements.


  • Develops Company's overall strategy and leads high-priority strategic initiatives. Communicates strategy in a meaningful way and develops objectives to align with the strategy.


  • Identifies, evaluates and recommends specific merger and acquisition opportunities; supports the execution of transactions and oversees post-merger integration efforts.


  • Contributes to business development and partnership discussions, including distribution, technology/product, content and monetization deals. Recommends strategic actions. Conducts business development discussions with potential partners.


  • Oversees business modeling and long-range financial planning.


  • Manages web analytics, reporting, yield management, forecasting and data strategy.


  • Evaluates the economics and business models of specific products/services, companies and industry sectors.


  • Oversees projects for environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies related to Company's growth and profitability.


  • Develops and provides guidance to Strategic Planning team.


  • Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.


  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime, as necessary.
