The Opportunity:
With an ever growing need for prioritization and proper resource allocation, the PD leadership team has approved reconstructing a simplified yet unified PD approach towards resource mgmt and utilization enabling oversight, PD and eventually R&D wide-resource planning and scenario projections.
As a Strategic Insights & Business Optimization (SIBO) Lead a key priority of this role will be to architect, deliver and sustain a PD-wide resource management capability, including governance, technology and leading the associated business process implementation. All so that PD is enabled to improve the value its resources deliver and ensure that PD is equipped to understand, anticipate and manage resource demand of today and the future.

You will develop and maintain a global PD (end eventually an R&D) wide resource management approach to support strategic decision making, ultimately impacting the direction and resource allocation for strategic program, business priorities and the absorption of BD deals

You will focus on developing and implementing a repeatable process for reporting and monitoring many of PD’s functional operations in order to enable oversight of their systemic performance, identify areas of improvement and overall drive our productivity.

You will develop resource optimization through an agreed architecture - Ensure decision quality by architecting the path to a decision, the decision making model, and the prioritization proposals.

You will be a trusted strategy insights partner with Pharma Leaders (PDLT, PD Functions, Finance, the REDs and other colleagues in PSD, etc) to provide critical metrics & key performance indicators providing insightful analytics to PD’s E2E performance - all while also providing market benchmarking metrics.

Portfolio assessments and impact assessment - Manage and communicate portfolio dynamics (risk, value, mix, competitive positioning, performance, tracking, etc.) to inform relevant portfolio decisions and strategy updates.

Construct & inaugurate frameworks to analyze and examine the performance of our internal R&D processes, systems and projects, preferably covering E2E of the evidence generation process, to provide context and benchmarking for PDs competitive position so that our strategy is tested and frequently adapted to stay abreast of the changing competition.Leverage these insights to connect current performance to shape future capabilities and priorities.
Who you are

15 or more years in pharma/biotech industry experience with at least a couple of years in early/late stage development focusing on resource mgmt & forecasting.

You have a Bachelor’s degree in science, business, data analytics, math or a related field. Advanced degree and/or Masters in a relevant area (e.g. MBA, PhD, PharmD, Data Analytics) preferred.

Extensive pharma/biotech industry with a profound expertise and a proven record of leading strategic level project & insights generation.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA $187,800.00 - $348,800.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
