The Role

The PAS CFO will be driving profitability and commercial success for the entire business on a global scale ($1.0B in sales).  Leveraged by the Business Vice President as second-in-command at all aspects of running the business, the PAS CFO serves as a key member of the PAS Leadership team in developing and implementing transformational business plans across the portfolio. Specific actions include, but are not limited to addressing new, capital-efficient organic growth markets, building innovative business models, and driving M&A to increase competitiveness, market share and shareowner value. The CFO will also lead the development of future financial strategies to achieve the above goals. The role is based out of the PAS Headquarters in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive continued improvement in strategy development and execution, with a specific focus on margin expansion/OI growth.
  • Oversees the development of strategic planning and operating budgets, to ensure optimal allocation and utilization of financial resources and cost-efficient deployment, with a focus on balancing financial risks and opportunities for the business. 
  • Ensures Financial Compliance and proper Financial Books & Records. Monitors and continually strengthens the global control environment, including process- and financial controls. Embodies a culture of controllership and acts a strong role model for compliance and integrity.
  • Partners with the Business President as a CFO in a “COO” capacity to drive the strategic focus and priorities of the business, including vertical and horizontal growth, strategic pricing, and new product introductions. As a true business partner, the CFO proactively offers insights on continuous improvement of business processes and operations.
  • Drives results; sets clear targets; aligns teams and resources, monitors the delivery of results through peers and extended teams. 
  • Works with operating business leaders and their teams to drive growth and value creation. Identifies and drives key performance levers and develops management processes to hold people and the organization accountable.
  • Drives data-driven finance capabilities in PAS and the adoption of advanced planning, reporting and analytics capabilities, digital technologies, and new approaches. 
  • Provides leadership in the recruitment, training, and development of top-quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity. 
  • Instills a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency among the finance team and across the entire organization. Proactively develops solutions and marshals the right resources to attain short term and long-term financial outcomes.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Strong depth of experience and expertise in Projects/Program Finance (concepts like POC/percentage of completion, and EVM/earned value management, etc.)
  • Finance Acumen. Direct experience from a large-scale segment CFO role in a multinational environment is essential. S/he will have a track record of success at cultivating meaningful relationships with the global finance organization. M&A experience is desired. Analytical finance skills, including the ability to develop analyses, performance measures and incentives that drive profitable operations, are highly important. Good at spotting trends and interpreting data. Looks at data from different angles and asks the right questions to gain additional insights. Demonstrates strong financial integrity, controls, and forecast accuracy.
  • Business Partner. A strong commercial orientation and a proven ability to partner with line managers and operating teams to drive and monitor performance and to develop strategic plans. S/he will be a strategic leader who can impact and change business-level strategy beyond the finance area. Possesses change agility and mobilizes others in the organization to initiate change. Considers all factors to form the best overall solution for the company.
  • Execution and Conviction. Has well-supported views and appropriately advocates while being open to ideas of others. Takes personal responsibility to ensure full execution.
  • Set the Tone. Understands that employees look to Finance for indications of business health and provides a realistic, but optimistic view. Possesses the self-awareness to monitor and adjust the signals sent to the organization (mood, demeanor, mannerisms, the way people are treated) to have a positive impact.
