The Role:
 

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to invest in, build, and assist in AWS optimization and service build out. You will be a key member of our engineering team, working hands-on leading a small team of DBAs and Infrastructure engineers. You will bring not just technical expertise in legacy data centers and latest AWS environments, but also great interpersonal skills, teaching and mentoring other engineers.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Join a team of engineers designing, building, and maintaining our product on the AWS platform, contributing to the technical direction and helping to provide mentorship/guidance to others on the team.

  • Build and maintain tooling to support the team, and external teams.

  • Set technical direction and prioritize the work of your team by gathering feedback from engineers, support, and collaborating with the teams to make their lives easier.

  • Work hands on with your team, designing architecture, performing code reviews, and of course writing the code and tools to support our internal teams.

  • Help foster a DevOps culture within the entire engineering team by teaching and advocating for DevOps practices.

  • Help troubleshoot on active incident calls and work with various teams to ensure customer success 

  • Be part of an on-call rotation to support the global platform providing an excellent customer experience.
     

About You:

You are an experienced engineer that understands the best way to success is by enabling your colleagues to do their best work. You bias towards action, but understand that clear, timely communication is a must at a company of our size. You have a strong and current background in AWS, with experience supporting platforms that can process terabytes of data. You’re an advocate of the DevOps mindset, and you’re keen to share what you learn with your peers.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working in AWS with AWS certification(s), or Kubernetes certification(s) being a plus.

  • Strong, proven experience working with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS), having designed, built, and maintained Kubernetes platforms that run production-grade services and traffic.

  • Strong, proven experience working with developers to build and maintain tools and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience building and maintaining platforms using Terraform (or similar infrastructure as code technologies).

  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-first monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure that support 24/7 enterprise platforms

  • Experience with ECS, ECR, MSK, data pipelines / data engineering for enterprise platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills. A demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to all audiences.
