Sr. Developer

This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside in Texas, Iowa or Tennessee.

WORK SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY 

This is a remote position requiring full-time availability from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Central Time. Team members are expected to be online, responsive, and on video for meetings. The role also includes 4 onsite weeks annually (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct) in Carrollton, Texas. This position is only open to candidates living in Texas, Iowa, or Tennessee. 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

DC International is seeking a Senior Backend / Operations Developer who thrives in complex, real-world systems and enjoys learning how things work under the hood. This role is not for a single-language or single-platform specialist. We are looking for a well-rounded, senior-level developer with deep experience across multiple systems and technologies who can confidently step into an existing environment, quickly master unfamiliar code, and lead safe, effective improvements. 

This role is ideal for a seasoned developer who takes ownership of outcomes, is ready to apply deep development experience, and wants to help raise the technical bar within a collaborative team — including mentoring junior and mid-level developers. 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 

• Ramp up quickly on the codebase and documentation, troubleshooting and delivering changes independently 

• Own and deliver medium-to-large enhancements end to end that are stable and well-tested in production 

• Improve and refactor existing APIs, services, and SQL with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability 

• Communicate progress clearly, raise risks early, and guide technical decisions with sound judgment 

• Set the standard for code quality and mentor other developers on the team 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Application & Backend Development 

• Read, understand, enhance, and refactor existing C# and .NET applications 

• Architect, implement, and maintain APIs and background services 

• Write, tune, and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures 

• Design and develop Microsoft Power Platform solutions including Power Automate 

Integration & Automation 

• Design, integrate, and test with internal and external third-party APIs 

• Design and build automation workflows that measurably improve operational efficiency 

• Use tools like Postman to validate integrations 

DevOps & Code Management 

• Lead Git-based workflows, pull requests, and code reviews, mentoring peers on code quality 

• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines to deploy and monitor changes 

• Use development tools such as Visual Studio and VS Code effectively 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

• 7+ years of backend, systems, or operational software development experience (production experience valued more than startup titles) 

• Deep proficiency in the Microsoft stack, especially C# and .NET/.NET Core 

• Writes clean, maintainable, performance-conscious SQL and database interactions 

• Strong API design, development, and integration experience 

• Proven track record of stepping into existing systems and confidently enhancing and modernizing them 

• Experience mentoring developers and leading code review 

• Adaptable and self-directed, with a history of quickly mastering new tools and contexts

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP, Dynamics 365 CRM, and warehouse systems 

• Working knowledge of Power BI, data warehousing, and Microsoft Fabric 

• Production support or operational ownership experience 

• Experience designing and building scalable systems with modern patterns
