Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java API Developer with strong expertise in designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Java-based backend development, microservices architecture, and building secure and reliable RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java
Build high-performance, secure, and reusable microservices
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and architects to define API requirements
Ensure API performance, scalability, reliability, and security
Develop and maintain API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)
Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues
Participate in system design discussions and architecture decisions
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers
Work in Agile/Scrum environments and contribute to sprint deliverables
Integrate applications with databases, messaging systems, and third-party services
Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience in backend development using Java
Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Proficiency in frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud
Experience with API design principles and best practices
Strong knowledge of Java, multithreading, and performance optimization
Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Familiarity with API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SSO)
Experience with version control systems like Git
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience working in Agile development environments
Preferred Skills:
Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
Exposure to API gateways (Kong, Apigee, Spring Cloud Gateway)
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
