Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of automotive printed circuit board (PCB) design, including layout, design verification, and post-processing. The PCB Designer must operate independently to create electronic PCB layouts based on schematics and design requirements, collaborating closely with Electrical Engineers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design and layout multi-layer, high-density PCBs for automotive applications.
- Adhere to mechanical PCB Keepout zones to ensure proper assembly and mating with other components.
- Liaise with PCB suppliers to understand fabrication capabilities and requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to produce manufacturable and reliable PCB designs.
- Work with EMC specialists and design engineers to incorporate electromagnetic compatibility and other design constraints.
- Apply best practices in PCB layout to ensure electrical integrity, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Manage ECAD library models to support efficient and accurate design processes.
- Review and verify PCB designs to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
Who we are looking for:
- College Diploma or higher in Electronics Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in PCB layout, especially within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer workflow and tools.
- Valor NPI experience is desirable.
- Solid understanding of EMC requirements and PCB manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of managing ECAD libraries and supporting design lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, including computers and design tools.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and external contacts.
Hiring Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)
