Description:  Database Analyst Senior – Office of Retirement Services


Skills Required: Specific skills required: Database Analyst/Architect 5+ years of experience in the following: • Strong experience in database design, development and software development experience • 5+ years of enterprise database design or architecture experience is required • Expertise in architecting, designing (modeling) and developing backend databases in end-to-end enterprise applications • Must be able to comprehend requirements and work with team to produce Logical Data Model • Experience in ER/Win or similar data modeling tool • Experience in implementing Data Governance • Must be able to work with DBA to transform Logical to Physical model • Experience designing and deploying database reporting and monitoring tools • Strong knowledge with performance optimization and tuning with database applications • Experience in data security, capacity planning and failover procedures • Experience implementing data warehousing and business analytics


Experience Preferred: Experience in data analysis related to the following business areas: Healthcare • Healthcare Insurance • Experience with HIPAA (4010/5010), EDI (834) • Knowledge of health care eligibility, online enrollment. Retirement • Retirement and Benefit Estimation • Experience working in Public Retirement systems. • Knowledge of generating benefit estimate Finance and Payments • Accounting principles • Understanding the general ledger • Knowledge in GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles), • Cash receipts, Cash reconciliation, Account payables, Account receivables, • Invoice, Billing, revenue\expense recording, cash allocation, payment processing, general ledger entries Miscellaneous • Reporting requirement for 401k and 457 plans • History with Pension Plans • Reporting requirements for pension plans
