We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Database Administrator with strong expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL to manage, support, and optimize critical database systems. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, cloud database management, and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for production environments.
Key Responsibilities
? Database Management
Administer and maintain SQL Server (IaaS SQL Instance, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL DB) and PostgreSQL databases
Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations
Manage database provisioning and environment setup
? Performance Tuning & Optimization
Analyze and optimize slow queries and execution plans
Design and maintain indexing strategies
Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks
? Backup, Restore & Disaster Recovery
Design and manage backup strategies (Full, Differential, Log)
Perform database restores and point-in-time recovery
Implement and validate DR strategies
? High Availability
Configure and manage:
SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
Failover clustering
PostgreSQL replication (streaming/logical)
? Monitoring & Automation
Implement monitoring and alerting solutions
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
Work with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, etc.)
? Security & Compliance
Manage database security (logins, roles, permissions)
Implement encryption and auditing policies
Ensure compliance with organizational standards
Skills Required
- Expertise administering SQL Server (IaaS SQL Instance, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL DB)

- Advanced performance tuning and query optimization, analyze execution plans

- Design and manage backup strategies (Full, Differential, Log) and perform restores/point-in-time recovery
