Job PurposeThe Senior Data Analyst will analyze healthcare-related data to support business decisions and ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements. The role involves translating complex datasets into actionable insights, developing reports and dashboards, and providing guidance to stakeholders and junior team members. The analyst will ensure data integrity, maintain documentation, and apply best practices to improve analytics processes.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare data to support business decision-making and CMS federal reporting (e.g., CMS 64/21 reports).
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reports and dashboards using SQL and business intelligence tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend technical solutions.
- Validate and profile data to identify anomalies, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Document data processes and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
- Provide regular project updates and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
- Mentor junior analysts and deliver technical training as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Perform additional duties as required to support organizational and project goals.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare business analysis, including data analysis, writing business requirements, and performing user acceptance testing.
- 5+ years of SQL development experience, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- 3+ years of experience working with State Medicaid and CHIP agencies or equivalent knowledge of federal reporting requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working directly with clients.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related STEM field.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong team collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience developing Adult/Child Core Set Measures, HEDIS, CHIPRA, or similar healthcare quality metrics.
- Familiarity with healthcare data systems and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
