Summary:
The Sr. Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating and determining the credit risks of both new and existing commercial clients through detailed financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, and cash flow analysis. Additionally, they will ensure the loan is properly structured and risk rated as well as compliant with regulations and bank policy.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for embracing and supporting Harford Bank’s Core Values and Vision.
- Utilize software to spread financial statements, generate financial ratios, and prepare global cash flow analyses and stress tests.
- Assess, analyze and interpret financial spreads, global cash flows, and personal financial information to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
- Prepare detailed narrative reports to effectively communicate the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
- Research and evaluate borrower’s industry, analyze industry trends, and compare borrower to appropriate peers.
- Utilize information from internal and external sources to support recommendations on credit risk rating, collateral quality and adequacy, credit structure, and policy compliance.
- Provide guidance and instruction to more junior credit analysts.
- Attend Loan Committee meetings as needed to support loan requests.
- Utilize H360 reporting to create reports for Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and external examiners to include the quarterly credit report package.
- Create and maintain spreadsheet records of new commercial loan or renewal requests, commercial line of credit renewals, and commercial real estate modifications.
- Complete annual loan reviews to include a review of the risk rating.
- Discuss underwriting completion dates with commercial business development officers; meet deadlines and provide adequate notice if deadlines cannot be met.
- When necessary, provide analysis of borrowing base certificates and aging reports of accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable.
- Review both commercial and residential appraisals
- Accompany commercial business development officers on client calls; consult with accountants and clients as needed.
- As required, work with business development officers, lenders, and lending assistants to determine information needed to complete credit analysis.
- Meet with external loan reviewers, bank examiners, and auditors while on site to answer commercial lending questions.
- Responsible for maintaining financial statement tickler system.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Banking Policies:
- Responsible for thoroughly understanding of bank’s Loan Policy
- Understand and comply with all Bank policies.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, SARs, and Harford Bank security procedures.
- Maintain security of customer information and adhere to the Privacy Policy
- Complete all required annual compliance training requirements.
- Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field and a minimum of seven years’ work experience in one or more of the following fields: commercial credit, accounting, financial statement preparation or banking.
- Experience in underwriting loan requests of varying sizes and complexity, including, Land Development, Construction, Asset-Based lending, Investor Commercial Real Estate, Multifamily, and C&I Lending.
- Robust interpersonal skills with a deep understanding of working in a team environment.
- Proficiency in the use and operation of various systems and software, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and interact with individuals at all levels.
- High level of analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
