 A Day in the Life 

The Senior Credit Administrator, Business Lending & Credit Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Lendistry's credit training and competency framework while supporting credit administration activities across SBA, CORE, and specialty lending programs. This role serves as the primary owner of credit training standards, competency development, knowledge transfer initiatives, and succession planning within the lending organization. 

The position partners closely with Credit, Training, Fulfillment, Servicing, Quality Control, and Compliance teams to ensure all employees exercising credit, eligibility, and compliance judgment are trained to documented standards and that training records, assessments, and attestations are maintained in a manner suitable for regulatory, audit, and loan review purposes. 

This role will lead the development of a product-specific credit curriculum, build a competency matrix across lending functions, identify gaps in credit capability, and establish a sustainable framework for ongoing training and development. Additionally, the role provides senior-level credit administration support and serves as the designated succession path for CORE credit administration coverage.

What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain a formal credit training program covering SBA, CORE, SSBCI, ACDBE, ACLP, NMTC, and other lending products. 

  • Create and maintain a tiered learning curriculum including foundational, role-based, and advanced credit training modules. 

  • Establish and maintain version-controlled training content linked to loan policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures. 

  • Manage credit training completion tracking and reporting. 

  • Coordinate training updates in response to policy changes, SOP revisions, quality control findings, and regulatory developments. 

  • Partner with Training to ensure curriculum governance, instructional quality, and delivery standards. 

  • Develop and maintain a credit competency matrix across lending functions and products. 

  • Assess organizational credit capabilities and identify training gaps. 

  • Create coverage plans ensuring critical competencies have adequate cross-trained resources. 

  • Build and support succession planning for key credit administration functions. 

  • Conduct product-specific credit reviews to identify process, policy, and capability gaps. 

  • Establish and maintain a Quality Control-to-Training feedback loop. 

  • Recommend improvements to underwriting consistency, eligibility reviews, credit policy execution, and documentation quality. 

  • Capture and document institutional credit knowledge, standards, and best practices. 

  • Partner with senior credit administration leadership to document CORE credit practices and decision frameworks. 

  • Serve as designated successor for CORE credit administration responsibilities following successful completion of training program 

  • Ongoing execution of the strategic direction of lending operations to produce successful service, loan growth, portfolio mix, product development and quality.  

  • Engage regularly with IT, Sales, Technology, and Operations departments to improve loan workflow and processing.  

  • Work closely with compliance to ensure all aspects of lending are compliant with federal and state regulations, and Company Policies.  

  • Participate in overall management of Lendistry as a member of the CORE team to assist in achieving long-term profitability, growth, and strategic direction.  

  • Work collaboratively across the Company, specifically with leaders, to support the Company’s vision, credit goals and a team environment.  

  • Reviews and approves large and complex loans prior to submission to loan committee.  

  • Oversee new and renewed extensions of credit ensuring compliance with policy and regulations.  

  • Govern and enforce risk-rating and underwriting standards.  

  • Act as principal credit liaison to all regulatory agencies, outside accountants, consultants and others as needed.  

  • Leverage loan data and business intelligence to improve the Company’s overall risk performance and guidelines.  

  • Identify potential problem credits, coupled with appropriate intervention, to minimize losses.  

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions and rates.

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.  

  • 7-10 years of experience in credit administration, underwriting, real estate loan underwriting, loan closing, problem asset management and portfolio management in a financial environment.  

  • Strong background in SBA, conventional commercial lending and credit policy interpretation.  

  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or improving credit policies, procedures, standards, or training programs. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising staff.  

  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring, eligibility requirements, and regulatory expectations. 

  • Ability to translate complex lending requirements into practical training content. 

  • Experience identifying root causes of credit quality issues and implementing corrective actions. 

  • Exceptional written communication, instructional design, facilitation, and presentation skills. 

  • Computer operations including Windows-based software, word processing and spreadsheet applications. 

  • Possess advanced financial analysis skills and have thorough knowledge of commercial loan structuring and understand creative loan structures.  

  • Ability to work outside regular hours as needed.  

  • Ability to thoroughly interpret complex credit data, financial data and use sound business judgment for actions and decisioning.  

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and demonstrate flexibility and poise in dealing with a diverse range of individuals.  

  • Strong work ethic and professional integrity.  

  • Confidentiality of sensitive data and a high level of ethics is essential.  

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously.  

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication required.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience in partnering with a senior management team as well as levels of staff.

Physical Requirements  

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting (approximately 95%), repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional standing, lifting, carrying of 20lbs or less, walking, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
