How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Sr. Controls/Automation Engineer, you’ll be a trusted technical leader on our automation team, helping guide engineering decisions, strengthen our processes, and deliver reliable solutions our customers can count on.
Your role will balance big-picture leadership with hands-on engineering. One day, you might be helping design a controls architecture or advising our sales team on a new opportunity. The next, you could be troubleshooting a system on-site, mentoring an engineer, or leading a customer through a successful go-live.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how we work, build confidence across our teams, and help us take on increasingly sophisticated automation projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead with expertise and ownership. Guide controls engineering across multiple projects, from system design and PLC/HMI programming to commissioning, testing, and go-live. Help teams make sound technical decisions while keeping safety, quality, and customer needs at the center.
- Be the technical partner others count on. Work alongside sales, project managers, software engineers, installation teams, and customers to solve challenges, evaluate technology, and ensure electrical, mechanical, controls, and software systems work together seamlessly.
- Strengthen our team and partnerships. Mentor developing engineers, guide internal teams, and provide technical oversight of subcontracted automation partners. Review designs, project scope, deliverables, and acceptance testing to reduce risk and ensure commitments are met.
- Help us keep getting better. Shape engineering standards, improve processes, and bring practical ideas that make our systems more reliable, our teams more effective, and our customers more successful.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep automation experience. 7+ years in controls engineering, ideally in conveyor systems, material handling, or warehouse automation, plus a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical know-how. Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI systems, and AutoCAD, along with experience in barcode scanning, high-speed sortation, scales, labeling systems, and industrial electrical and safety standards. Familiarity with WCS, WES, or WMS is a plus.
- A leader's mindset with a hands-on approach. The ability to guide engineers, evaluate third-party automation solutions, manage technical risk, and communicate clearly with customers and cross-functional teams. You’re equally comfortable leading a technical discussion and rolling up your sleeves to solve a problem.
- A commitment to being where the work happens. You live in the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area and are comfortable working regularly at our customer site in Mansfield, TX with flexibility as projects require. You're also willing to travel overnight up to 25% to support other customer locations.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
You’ll join a team that values integrity, looks out for one another, and takes genuine pride in delivering work that matters. Here, your experience will be trusted, your ideas will help shape our future, and you’ll have the opportunity to build something lasting alongside people who care about doing it right.
