About the Position:

**This is a remote position with required occasional travel to the Indianapolis, Indiana area. Candidates within a reasonable driving distance of Indianapolis are preferred.**

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare financial statements and analyses to facilitate company decision-making
• Oversee monthly close, incorporating Milestone templates and tools
• Prepare budgets and monitor performance against plan
• Forecast short-term cash needs and assist client companies in managing costs and cash flow
• Assess internal control environment and implement process improvements
• Communicate effectively with owners/management regularly to establish performance expectations
• Stay current on accounting/financial reporting rules and developments and apply new accounting principles as appropriate.
• Prepare written reports and summaries for executive management and boards.
• Collaborate with the CEO, board, investors/owners and external stakeholders
• Assess internal control environment and implement process improvements
• Build and maintain long-term projection models and help company management understand model outputs
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Equity and cap table reconciliation 

Job Requirements

• 10+ years of experience required 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required (CPA preferred)
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement presentation, and accounting industry systems, tools and templates.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and clients with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Passionate about technology and able to learn new software quickly.
• Time-management, task prioritization and advanced skills in Google Sheets/Excel
• Occasional travel to the Indianapolis area.
