We seek a Sr. Cloud Engineer for Azure who will assume the lead in taking our application and infrastructure assets to the next level of site reliability, automation, security, and operational efficiency. You will become a member of a fully remote team that embraces a company culture whose defining characteristics are customer-centric, accountable, self-motivated, team-first, open, adaptable, innovative, and strategic mindset.
Do your passions include:
- Automating the provisioning and configuration of the latest tech stacks and Azure services
- Diving deep to determine why things fail in the “design to fail” public cloud world
- Bucking the trend of ever-increasing Azure monthly costs by finding more efficient services, configurations, and discount programs
- Upgrading your scripting skills with modern deployment automation frameworks
- Eliminating manual intervention in the CI/CD pipeline
A day in the life:
You are a Sr. Cloud Engineer at MediSpend. You evaluate a new Azure service or a new version of an existing Azure service for potential adoption. You configure and subsequently respond to a storage limit alert and add more volumes. You implement a new technical control to support our ISO 27001-based information security management program. You collaborate with clients to set up their SSO connection. You setup and enable Azure Blob Storage for a new developer to access. You update and leverage automated scripts to deploy new versions of the application. You build out a Disaster Recovery architecture. You create and update some Azure DevOps scripts to streamline the tech stack rollout. You POC and then operationalize the use of Azure Kubernetes Service. You monitor and locate a service configuration that wastes money and test a reconfiguration. You scan the log files for a suspicious and potentially damaging hack attempt.
What you bring to the table:
Extensive history of diverse provisioning and configuration experience with Azure services. Practical hands-on experience monitoring and debugging Azure services. Strong experience and working knowledge of Azure DevOps. Experience with other provisioning frameworks, such as Terraform, is a plus. Experience with deploying web applications and Linux-based Docker containers in Azure is needed. Experience deploying and maintaining Cosmos DB, SQL Server, and Power BI. Hands-on experience with Azure AD and B2C. Passion to embrace both strategic and tactical aspects of the Azure environment, as this is a multi-faceted position serving both needs. Previous experience building out a cost management framework and process is also very desirable. Strong scripting skills are expected. Knowledge and experience in creating parameterized deployment automation scripts in multiple Azure regions for multiple environments are also needed.
What MediSpend provides:
Permanent remote position flexibility, early-stage company feel great tech, professional, and company growth, and opportunity to expand and enhance your Azure skills.
As a fully remote team with options to meet team members at shared office spaces, we’re looking for someone comfortable with asynchronous communication as the default, which means you have previous remote experience and are comfortable using tools like Slack, Outlook, and Teams to communicate as needed.
