We are looking for a Senior Closures Hardware Engineer, Mechanisms. If you’re the kind of person who sees a problem, develops a solution, and engineers an improvement no one’s asked for yet, then we want to talk with you! This position is not for candidates that hold an advanced degree and are looking for a deeply technical or research-oriented position.
Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at multi-tasking.
Role:
- Design and engineer parts and systems for the closures systems such as doors, hoods, decklids and sealing systems.
- Develop conceptual packaging models for various closures components including sheet metals, multi-material components, seal extrusions and closures hardware
- Work with other groups to ensure packaging compliance and clearance.
- Own, drive, and confirm your designs’ performance with help from CAE, manufacturing, and suppliers, fast paced hardware engineering department
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals such as fluid flow, thermals, strength & stiffness of materials, physics.
- Design knowledge of plastic part.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant design & engineering experience.
- Creativity within complex 3D virtual package environment
- The ability to create complex CAD models in CATIA V6 quickly and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and how it applies to part, assembly, and customer requirements.
- Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills
- A great work ethic
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from ABET accredited institution or equivalent body structures automotive experience
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$133,400—$183,480 USD
