As the Senior Category Analyst for the retailer business, you serve as a strategic partner across business, operations, and technical teams to translate needs into clear requirements, deliver actionable insights, and ensure analytical solutions drive measurable outcomes. You lead high-quality analysis of multi-source data to identify growth opportunities through item performance evaluation, SKU gap assessment, whitespace identification, pricing analysis, assortment planning, and store clustering.
You support category management initiatives by leveraging retailer POS systems and portals (such as Scintilla and Retail Link), internal dashboards, syndicated data, and tools like Power BI. Your work includes developing dashboards, preparing category presentations, delivering regular business updates, and maintaining a strong understanding of client KPIs and strategic priorities.
In close collaboration with major retailers, replenishment, modular, and operations teams—as well as internal cross-functional partners—you create impactful reporting and insights that guide retail strategies, fuel business growth, and strengthen relationships across the Hana Group team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations using retailer POS and other data sources
- Update and manage weekly sales reports and dashboards, as well as other regular reports, such as new openings, category trends and performance, etc.
- Develop and deliver compelling category presentations that translate data into clear business narratives addressing key issues.
- Leverage Scintilla and other data tools to generate recommendations supporting assortment plans, marketing initiatives and focus-store tactics.
- Maintain and communicate category growth.
- Provide reporting, score carding, and category insights to drive execution and performance.
- Monitor category, competitive, and consumer data to identify trends, business opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Support and maintain category tools enabling tailored growth strategies for retailers and the Pilot team.
- Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, scoping, user testing, and post-implementation support for systems and tools impacting category management.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, IT, or a related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of business analyst experience, including 2+ years in a senior role
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-mining skills using CPG math concepts and tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, with strong data storytelling capabilities.
- Experience working with syndicated data sources, including Scintilla.
- Knowledge of retail strategy and execution across multiple channels and environments.
- Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and present insights to senior leadership.
