This combined team, in collaboration with key partners, builds solutions to serve Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access (“CMG”), and other patient- and customer-facing teams across CMG to shape and drive a seamless, consistent, meaningful, and compliant experience for patients and customers across our interactions. The team is specifically accountable for:

  • Defining omnichannel solutions, shaping engagement strategies, designing, operationalizing, and producing seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences.

  • Accelerating, connecting, and enabling the development of digital solutions that enhance the patient and customer experience across CMG.

  • Advancing the mission of seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences that maximize patient impact while keeping compliance at the forefront.

Job Summary

The Sr. Business Product Manager – Web Platform will drive the strategic development and enhancement of Genentech’s web platform capabilities, ensuring seamless integration across omnichannel journeys and accelerating time to market for content and design experiences.This role will be a critical bridge between Marketing, AEM Core Dev Teams CX , enabling scalability and personalization through Adobe Experience Manager, analytics, and connected data systems (HCP/Patient 360). The product manager will define and prioritize the product roadmap for web templates, components, and digital experiences across therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with omnichannel strategy, personalization and user experience. The product manager brings a strong background in Adobe AEM, pharma-grade web deployment, and omnichannel activation-balancing both strategic and execution.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Partner with the Business Product Owner and/or Director - Web Platform to support the creation of product(s) roadmaps, including experience, features, timelines, and dependencies to scale across all US brand sites.

  • Define and own the Web Platform product roadmap, including AEM components and modular templates that enable faster and compliant web publishing.

  • Help evangelize the role of web features(s) in achieving enterprise objectives, communicating their value proposition and roadmap(s) to senior leaders and organization-wide stakeholders.

  • Oversee business process & user insights collection through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the successful implementation of new features and capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Web Operations Manager to establish business standards & templates and ensure pull-through.

  • Partner with Omnichannel and Marketing stakeholders to align platform features with enterprise goals for personalization  and analytics capabilities.

  • Identify innovation opportunities to to integrate personalization, consent management, and data-driven insights into the web experience.

  • Collaborate closely with Technical Product Owner, AEM developers, UX designers, QA, and partners to deliver platform features.

  • Serve as the business lead for new template and component rollouts, ensuring user adoption, documentation, and training across marketing teams.

  • Define platform KPIs and dashboards for visibility into adoption, speed-to-market, and user satisfaction.

  • Establish and manage governance for AEM component usage, taxonomy, and tagging standards to support omnichannel measurement and orchestration.

  • Lead pilot initiatives leveraging AI-driven features for the web,  and stay ahead of digital trends, identifying technologies to evolve the web ecosystem for future readiness.

  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, operations, science, marketing, or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience, with 3 years in digital product management, web platform development, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including component development, modular templates and asset management.

  • Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats (VVPM) or similar MLR/PRC systems.

  • Demonstrated understanding of omnichannel ecosystems (web, CRM, email, paid media, and personalization frameworks).

  • Experience with sole ownership of tactics or product components, demonstrating the ability to articulate business problems, identify solutions, and drive execution from strategy through implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product roadmaps, including feature planning, timelines, and dependencies.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and rolling out new features across user bases and multi-brand component deployment.

  • Proven success in aligning stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless product integration.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience driving experimentation and optimization.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize product vision and value across all levels of an organization.

  • Proven ability to adapt and navigate ambiguous or evolving environments.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to innovate and foster experimentation to improve product capabilities.
     

  • Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience

    • Advanced degree, or equivalent experience (e.g., MBA or related graduate-level qualification).

    • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated industries.

    • Ability to innovate and foster experimentation to improve product capabilities.

    • Experience with AI/GenAI-enabled features, personalization tools, and web automation workflows.

    • Familiarity with Adobe Target, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Analytics, or CDP integrations.

    • This position is based in South San Francisco, CA. 

    • Relocation Assistance is not available

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $148,600 and $276,000.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
