SR. BUSINESS ANALYST, WORKFORCE PLANNING (STARLINK)
The Sr. Business Analyst, Workforce Planning (Starlink) leads proactive workforce planning and optimization, with a strong focus on managing demand volatility. This role uses short- and long-term strategies to help the organization scale efficiently while protecting customer experience and service levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead proactive workforce planning strategies to anticipate and mitigate demand volatility through advanced forecasting and predictive analytics
- Identify, evaluate, and activate short-term levers (e.g., overtime, flexible staffing, real-time schedule adjustments) and long-term levers (e.g., hiring strategies, capacity expansion, process redesign) to optimize workforce utilization
- Develop and improve forecasting models that detect demand fluctuations early and support data-driven decision-making
- Ensure workforce decisions consistently protect and enhance customer experience by maintaining service levels and minimizing disruptions
- Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on headcount planning, resource allocation, and scenario modeling
- Mentor and develop Workforce Specialists on forecasting techniques, lever management, and proactive planning practices
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, reduce the impact of volatility, and strengthen operational resilience
- Manage cross-functional projects related to workforce systems, analytics tools, and process standardization
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, information systems, computer science, engineering, or economics; OR 5+ years of professional experience in workforce management or capacity planning
- 3+ years of progressive experience in workforce planning, demand forecasting, or analytics
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in an analytical field
- 2+ years of experience in demand forecasting and predictive analytics
- 3+ years of experience using advanced Excel and SQL
- 2+ years of experience in statistical modeling, applied mathematics, operations research, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python
- Telecom or ISP industry experience
- Proven ability to balance short-term tactical actions with long-term strategic planning while protecting customer experience
- Advanced proficiency in workforce management systems and data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI)
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts
- Availability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time as needed to customer sites/meetings
- This is NOT a remote position and would require relocation if not local to the Redmond, WA or Bastrop, TX area
