Job Description: Sr. Automation QA Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead/Principal Automation QA Engineer with over 10 years of expertise to drive our quality engineering initiatives. In this role, you will champion a Shift-Left testing approach, architect robust automation frameworks using Playwright, and spearhead the testing strategy across multiple concurrent projects. You will act as both a hands-on technical expert and a collaborative mentor, ensuring our engineering teams deliver flawless software at scale.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Automation Framework & Strategy (Expert Level)
- Architect and Maintain Frameworks: Design, develop, and scale robust automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven) using Playwright with Java and/or TypeScript.
- Test Strategy & Planning: Author comprehensive, high-level Test Plans and Test Strategies for complex, multi-tier applications, aligning quality goals with business objectives.
- Shift-Left Implementation: Drive the adoption of Shift-Left testing methodologies, collaborating with developers early in the SDLC to implement unit, component, and integration-level automation.
Leadership & Initiative Management
- Multi-Initiative Management: Successfully balance and drive testing strategies across multiple simultaneous projects, product lines, or business initiatives without compromising on quality or deadlines.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Act as a strong team player and technical mentor, supporting junior/mid-level QA engineers and cross-functional team members wherever support is needed.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine testing methodologies (Agile/Scrum, DevOps) to eliminate bottlenecks in the release pipeline.
Technical Execution & DevOps (Added Best Practices)
- CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly integrate Playwright automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab) to enable continuous testing.
- Test Environment & Data Management: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and mocking of test data and test environments required for automated execution.
Code Reviews: Conduct rigorous code reviews for automation scripts to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
