About the Team
The Search team operates at the very core of Workday’s enterprise system technology and is responsible for solving sophisticated and exciting search problems across large datasets, providing search functionality across the Workday application stack. At an extensive scale, we contribute to the technology behind data normalization, search relevance, recommendation systems and machine learning with the goal of making enterprise in the cloud more inquisitive. We are currently seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join us in our Atlanta, Georgia office. You will be part of an engineering team with expertise building search and ML based predictive data into Workday applications.
About You
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of experience in software development engineering, including contributing to the development, and deployment of software solutions.
2+ years of experience in the following programming languages: Java and/or Scala.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Other Qualifications
Strong foundational understanding of Algorithmic Thinking to implement efficient, clean code solutions.
Familiarity with API Development, including RESTful services.
Good understanding of Code Testing methodologies, and experience writing unit and integration tests.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and their application in software design.
Proficiency in Java and/or Scala with a desire to continue growing your technical skills.
Hands-on experience with Source Control Management (SCM) tools (like Git) and standard branching strategies.
Excellent Team Collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively within an agile engineering team.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear Technical Documentation.
