Role Overview
The Salesforce QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Salesforce applications and integrations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in testing Salesforce solutions, with a particular focus on Salesforce CPQ functionality, expertise in QA automation, and a solid understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud. Exposure to Salesforce Billing is preferred, while experience with Service Cloud and Experience Cloud is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Salesforce applications, with a primary focus on Salesforce CPQ and Sales Cloud.
Design, execute, and maintain functional, regression, integration, sanity, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Salesforce implementations.
Define test environment and test data requirements, and collaborate with development teams to ensure test readiness.
Validate Salesforce CPQ business processes, including product configuration, pricing and product rules, quoting, approvals, amendments, renewals, and order management.
Perform integration testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity across Salesforce objects and integrated systems.
Prepare, automate, and execute regression test suites to maximize test coverage and improve release quality.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify defects early in the development lifecycle.
Conduct sanity testing to ensure applications are production-ready before deployment.
Track, prioritize, and report defects using Jira or similar tools, ensuring timely resolution.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in functional and automation testing of Salesforce applications.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce CPQ functionality testing.
Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud business processes and functionality.
Expertise in at least one QA automation tool, such as Provar, Selenium, or an equivalent automation framework.
Experience in preparing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
Hands-on experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) and integration validation.
Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and platform customizations.
Experience with regression test automation and test execution.
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Hands-on experience using Jira or similar defect management tools.
Experience working in client-facing roles with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to Salesforce Billing functionality and testing.
Experience conducting load and performance testing.
Knowledge of Revenue Cloud processes.
Experience validating Salesforce integrations with external applications.
Desirable Skills
Exposure to Salesforce Service Cloud.
Exposure to Salesforce Experience Cloud.
Knowledge of Salesforce automation frameworks such as TestNG.
