JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Analyst, RCM Analytics produces reliable RCM reports and explains what the numbers mean. The role maintains recurring reporting, checks data for accuracy, investigates performance changes, and gives leaders clear information they can use to improve cash, reimbursement, turnaround time, productivity, quality, and payer performance.

This role reports to the Director, RCM Strategy & Analytics, or designee.

The Sr. Analyst is expected to move beyond sending spreadsheets. The role must identify what changed, where the change occurred, likely drivers supported by the data, and what additional review or action is needed.

WHAT THIS ROLE OWNS

Recurring RCM reporting: Accurate and timely daily, weekly, and monthly reports assigned to the role.

Metric documentation: Written definitions explaining what each measure includes, excludes, where the data comes from, and how it is calculated.

Data validation: Routine checks that identify missing, duplicated, delayed, or inconsistent data before reports are distributed.

Performance analysis: Clear analysis of trends, outliers, payer differences, workflow bottlenecks, and operational opportunities.

Project measurement: Baselines, targets, and post-launch reporting for assigned transformation initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce accurate, timely RCM reports and dashboards; validate data, reconcile source-system differences, and clearly communicate limitations or delays.

• Maintain clear, consistent metric definitions, calculations, data sources, ownership, refresh timing, and version history.

• Analyze RCM performance across workflows, payers, tests, teams, aging, and denial types to identify trends, root causes, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

• Present concise findings that explain the issue, evidence, business impact, and recommended action to RCM and Finance leaders.

• Support workload, productivity, backlog, turnaround time, staffing capacity, cash, reimbursement, ASP, denials, appeals, collections, and forecasting analyses using documented assumptions.

• Establish baselines and targets for transformation initiatives, monitor post-launch results, and flag projects that are not achieving expected outcomes.

• Standardize and automate recurring reporting where practical while protecting confidential information and following applicable policies and requirements.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT OWN

• Making operational decisions for RCM leaders; the Analyst provides evidence and recommendations.

• Changing official finance, clinical, coding, compliance, or payer-policy definitions without the authorized owner.

• Distributing unvalidated numbers without clearly stating limitations.

• Serving only as a report producer; the role is expected to interpret results and identify actions.

• Owning source-system fixes, although the Analyst documents issues, validates corrections, and follows through with the responsible team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, finance, economics, healthcare administration, information systems, statistics, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, revenue cycle analytics, financial analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of healthcare RCM workflows and measures.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with a business intelligence or data visualization tool.

• Experience combining, validating, reconciling, and interpreting data from multiple sources.

• Ability to explain complex analysis in concise, nontechnical business language.

• Strong attention to accuracy, documentation, deadlines, and confidential information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in diagnostic, molecular, genetic, pathology, or specialty laboratory reimbursement.

• SQL and Power BI, Tableau, or comparable analytics experience.

• Experience with Quadax, Salesforce, laboratory billing systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, CRM, or LIS data.

• Experience with reimbursement, ASP, prior authorization, denials, appeals, forecasting, capacity analysis, vendor reporting, automation, or AI-enabled analytics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is primarily computer- and telephone-based and frequently requires sitting, keyboard and mouse use, speaking, listening, and reviewing electronic information.

• Protect patient, client, employee, financial, and business information and comply with company policies, HIPAA, and applicable payer, laboratory, quality, and regulatory requirements.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
