Summary
In this role, you will serve as the enterprise's strategic advisor on emerging AI and automation technologies, ensuring the organization maintains a current and informed view of the rapidly evolving market landscape. You will translate technology trends, vendor developments, industry shifts, and competitive intelligence into actionable insights that guide tool evaluation, roadmap planning, and investment decisions. You will partner closely with business, product, and governance leaders to ensure the organization's AI strategy is informed by future opportunities, emerging risks, and evolving market dynamics.
Responsibilities
• Conduct continuous research and horizon scanning across the AI and automation landscape, including emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, capability advancements, and industry adoption trends.
• Analyze and synthesize market intelligence into concise, actionable recommendations that inform enterprise AI strategy, tool evaluations, and roadmap decisions.
• Evaluate emerging AI, generative AI, agentic AI, and automation capabilities against enterprise needs, existing technology investments, and governance requirements.
• Develop evidence-based recommendations regarding technology adoption, pilot opportunities, investment priorities, and capability development.
• Own and maintain the enterprise AI competitive intelligence function by monitoring industry peers, analyst research, market benchmarks, and emerging best practices.
• Partner with business and product leaders to ensure strategic roadmaps balance current delivery priorities with future capability opportunities.
• Support investment and portfolio planning through value assessments, risk analysis, business case development, and technology landscape evaluations.
• Identify and communicate emerging technology risks, regulatory developments, and market trends that may require governance, policy, or strategic consideration.
• Collaborate with governance stakeholders to ensure responsible AI principles and enterprise standards are reflected in strategic recommendations.
• Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and briefings that communicate complex technology concepts in a clear and actionable manner.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by providing forward-looking perspectives on AI, automation, and digital transformation opportunities.
• Build organizational awareness and confidence in the enterprise AI strategy through thought leadership, education, and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7 or more years of experience in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, management consulting, product strategy, or a related field required.
• Demonstrated experience assessing emerging technology landscapes and translating findings into strategic, decision-ready recommendations required.
• Strong knowledge of the AI and automation ecosystem, including generative AI, agentic AI, intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), and related enterprise technologies required.
• Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, technology evaluations, and investment assessments required.
• Experience developing executive-level strategic recommendations, business cases, technology assessments, or market intelligence reports required.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex technology trends and business implications required.
• Ability to assess technology opportunities, risks, and potential business value within an enterprise context required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for executive and non-technical audiences required.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with experience collaborating across business and technology organizations required.
• Experience supporting strategic planning, roadmap development, portfolio management, or investment prioritization required.
• Understanding of AI governance principles, responsible AI practices, and regulatory considerations related to enterprise AI adoption preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
