 As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for aircraft systems products and engineering functions. You will be responsible for defining technical direction, system development activities, driving integration and certification efforts, and serving as a subject matter expert within your assigned product or functional area.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to influence engineering execution across cross-functional teams. This role is expected to lead complex technical initiatives, develop systems engineering capability, mentor engineers, and drive successful product outcomes throughout the development lifecycle.

You will report directly to our Systems Engineer Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

 Product and Functional Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of aircraft systems products, technologies, or engineering functions.
  • Serve as the technical owner for assigned product areas, capabilities, or engineering disciplines.
  • Establish technical strategies, roadmaps, and development approaches that support business and customer objectives.
  • Drive technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Coordinate efforts across systems, software, hardware, safety, certification, and verification teams.

Systems Engineering

  • Develop and manage system requirements, architectures, interfaces, and integration strategies.
  • Lead requirements decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation activities.
  • Perform system analysis to support product decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering processes, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Integration, Verification, and Certification

  • Lead system integration and verification activities for assigned products or functions.
  • Support laboratory, ground, and flight test activities.
  • Define verification approaches and certification strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, avionics development, aircraft integration, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with system requirements development, architecture, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Proven ability to lead technical efforts across cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a product lead, domain lead, technical lead, subject matter expert, or engineering focal.
  • Knowledge of ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and aircraft certification processes.
  • Demonstrated success developing technical talent and building functional capability.
