Snr Advanced Software Engineer (Historian) is responsible for applying expert software engineering expertise and experience with Historian and Visualization solutions to deliver market leading software products, first class support, innovation and contribution to a strong team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop expert understanding of selected PHD/Enterprise Historian subsystems. Deliver product enhancements through a range of activities across the full software development lifecycle
- Manage product security to ensure highest levels of compliance and safety
- Champion innovation ideas, technology exploration and implementation in Honeywell historian offerings
- Continuously improve extend automated continuous integration and deployment infrastructure
- Provide first or second line PHD developer level support to Honeywell’s technical assistance centre, customers, and to colleagues
Key Experience & Capabilities:
Essential:
- Expert software development experience, including coding (C, C++, C#, optionally Python); multi-threaded application development
- Expert in cyber security processes
- Demonstrated AI and analytics expertise, including intelligent use of AI development tools
- Experience in software testing, including automated unit testing, acceptance testing, and performance/scalability testing
- Interest in software development including modern test tools and practices and a passion to develop new skills and knowledge
- Passion and aptitude for first class software support
- Ability to integrate well in a team of highly experienced software engineers
- Ability to work effectively with engineers in other locations
Valued:
- Hands-on experience (5 years minimum) with Honeywell PHD Historian and/or competitor historian products
- Expert low level windows networking experience and specialist protocols
- Exceptional ability to diagnose complex software issues including via crash dump analysis
- 10+ experience with SQL server best practice database design, administration, programming (e.g., stored procedures) and troubleshooting
- 5+ years C# .Net development expertise
- Experience administering and deploying solutions to Cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud, and/or AWS.
- Experience in Cloud Historian Collector or equivalent (e.g. EBI Cloud Connector)
- Experience with emerging database technologies including no-SQL databases
- Windows Server installation and administration experience
- Linux server experience
- Experience administering and tuning virtual environments including VMWare and Hyper-V
