The Honeywell Aerospace Sr Advanced Application Engineer is responsible for Technically leading in servicing the customers by understanding their requirements, providing technical solutions, and ensuring the successful delivery of aerospace databases. This role requires in-depth knowledge of aerospace domain, including end to end aerospace databases processing chain, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership:
- Engage with external customers to understand their requirements, understand challenges, and provide tailored solutions. Need basis connect with customers over phone, understand the issue and provide quick solutions that meet the timeline.
- Collaborate with both internal/external customers throughout the production lifecycle to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Address customer issues from the perspective of NavDB FMS (Flight Management Systems) product, thereby significantly improving customer satisfaction.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Develop and enhance quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with DO-200() regulations and standards.
- Implementing rigorous quality checks is vital to identifying and addressing any quality issues before the final product is delivered.
- Conduct/support technical reviews and audits both internal/external.
- Ability to regularly assess bottlenecks or inefficiencies, for timely adjustments to be made to optimize work procedures.
3. Source Supplier Interaction:
- Ability to work with external source supplier, to take up technical issues and get them resolved in acceptable timeframe.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in any discipline with relevant aerospace work experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in aerospace domain and also aerospace database production process knowledge is added advantage.
- Proven experience in providing technical solutions to the customer problems and also tools/processes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of aerospace domain, principles and practices.
- Knowledge of Aviation principles and instrument flying procedures
- Knowledge of Aeronautical Information Publications, Performance Based Navigation and cartographical maps
- Knowledge of Air Navigation routes and expertise in Flight Instrument Charts
- ARINC 424 standard understanding, practicing and guiding
- Must be Process oriented and have proven track record of handling internal and external audits
- Must have continuous improvement mindset with visible proven track record
- Must be dedicated and have ability to understand and support customer issues in very short span of time with proven track record.
- Knowledge of various Flight Management Systems and Honeywell navigation database formats is added advantage
- Exposure to all phases of Flight operations, Proficiency in Navigation, Flight Planning, and charts
- Must have ability to train, guide, coach, and mentor new and existing team members
- Demonstrate excellent technical leadership, communication skills and have flair for excelling in delivery commitments
- Ability to closely work with external and internal stakeholders, for example source suppliers, airline customers, Aero Tech Support, Flight Management Engineering and BMS
