The Advanced Application Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering, implementation, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle support of Honeywell Alarm Management and Process Historian solutions. The role serves as the technical lead for project delivery and acts as the primary interface between customers, project managers, operations personnel, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of projects from design through commissioning and handover.
• Prepare Functional Design Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, Network Architectures, FAT/SAT procedures and As-Built documentation.
• Configure and deploy Honeywell Alarm Management solutions including alarm rationalization, KPI monitoring, shelving, suppression, analytics and reporting.
• Facilitate alarm rationalization workshops in accordance with ISA-18.2 and EEMUA 191.
• Design and implement Uniformance PHD architectures, historians, collectors, interfaces, redundancy and backup strategies.
• Integrate historians and alarm systems with Experion PKS, PLCs, SCADA, OPC UA/DA, MES and ERP platforms.
• Develop dashboards, trends, reports and performance analytics.
• Lead FAT, SAT, site commissioning and startup support activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Support customer training, acceptance testing and knowledge transfer.
• Support Sales function in opportunities pursuit (technical clarifications, product demos, etc.)
• Support Proposal & Estimations function by providing estimates and review technical inputs and technical proposals.
• Support LOB function in achieving AOP with respect to billability and spot orders through Field Sales Lead (FSL)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Control Systems, Instrumentation, Computer Science or Software Engineering, or other related engineering degree.
• 5+ years experience in industrial automation, process control or digitalization projects.
• Strong experience with DCS/SCADA/PLC systems and industrial networking and well versed with communication protocols like OPC, ODBC, Modbus, Serial, Ethernet etc.
• Strong understanding in databases applications like MSSQL/Oracle.
• Basic VB, Java, Python, and .NET Scripting will be an added advantage. Prior experience with dashboard/reporting solutions such as Power BI, Tableau and SSRS will also be advantageous.
• Experience delivering customer-facing projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Mining, Pharma or Manufacturing.

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) – desirable
• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certification – desirable
• CISSP – desirable
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – desirable

Technical Skills

• Alarm Management: ISA-18.2, EEMUA 191, alarm rationalization, KPI analysis, alarm shelving, suppression, root cause investigation.
• Historian: Honeywell Uniformance PHD, data collection, compression, historian administration, enterprise historian architecture, reporting and data analytics.
• Automation: Honeywell Experion PKS, OPC DA/UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, industrial networking, Windows Server, SQL Server, virtualization, cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Analytics: Reporting tools, dashboards, Power BI, historian analytics, operational excellence initiatives.
