Pre-Sales Engineer (Building Management System)

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will act as a technical bridge between sales, customers, and product teams within the Building Management Systems (BMS) domain. The role is primarily focused on pre-sales solutioning, technical consulting, and customer engagement, with an additional responsibility of providing targeted post-sales field support and escalations.
This position requires a strong ability to design, position, and validate solutions, along with hands-on expertise to support deployment challenges across both software and hardware layers of building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Sales Engagement & Solutioning (Core Focus)
- Perform specification compliance and design reviews for Building Automation Systems (BAS), including BMS and HVAC control systems.
- Provide technical consultancy and system architecture guidance to customers, consultants, and internal sales teams.
- Translate customer requirements into end-to-end BMS solutions, covering system design, integration, and scalability.
- Develop and deliver technical demonstrations aligned with customer use cases and value realization.
- Plan and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs), pilot deployments, and solution validations.
- Support technical discussions with consultants and stakeholders, influencing design decisions and specifications.
- Conduct technical enablement and training programs for sales teams to strengthen solution positioning.
- Deliver product updates, roadmap briefings, and technical knowledge sessions internally.
2. Post-Sales Technical Support (Targeted)
- Provide on-site field support for complex deployments, commissioning challenges, and critical escalations.
- Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across deployed BMS environments.
- Perform RMA diagnostics and failure analysis, coordinating with stakeholders as required.
- Act as a technical escalation point for high-impact customer issues requiring deep expertise.
- Participate in beta testing and validation of new product introductions (NPIs) in real-world environments.
- Collaborate with engineering and support teams to close product gaps and improve solution quality.
Required Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Building Automation, BMS, HVAC controls, or Smart Building Solutions.
- Certifications in BMS/BAS technologies or industrial communication protocols
- Strong background in pre-sales engineering, system design, and customer-facing technical roles.
- Experience working with consultants, system integrators, and enterprise customers.
- Exposure to full project lifecycle (design → deployment → commissioning → support).
- Proven ability to balance solutioning responsibilities with hands-on field troubleshooting
